Also, maatsmom843, in 2009 the murder statistics show that Blacks had a higher Murder count than 'Whites'....
so murder is gonna be the standard of measure for ALL crime in the US now? the murder rate amongst Blacks was higher in the report that I cited as well. . . .
furthermore, i didn't contradict any argument, i simply posted numbers. . . .and they irrevocably illuminate the fact that Black people were responsible for less than a quarter of all crimes committed at the time of the report. . . . . what white and latino guys are doing has no effect on that fact!
You are missing the point...Blacks are only 13% of the population, so even if its as you claim and they are committing 1/4 of all crime, that simply shows that blacks are WAY MORE likely to commit crimes than other races. If crime were equal in races, blacks being 13% of the population, would also commit 13% of the crimes.
When you talk about violent crimes, blacks are FAR more dangerous than other races.
Sorry, racism is JUSTIFIED
How does poverty differ across subgroups?
The poverty rate for all persons masks considerable variation between racial/ethnic subgroups. Poverty rates for blacks and Hispanics greatly exceed the national average. In 2009, 25.8 percent of blacks and 25.3 percent of Hispanics were poor, compared to 9.4 percent of non-Hispanic whites and 12.5 percent of Asians.Poverty rates are highest for families headed by single women, particularly if they are black or Hispanic. In 2009, 29.9 percent of households headed by single women were poor, while 16.9 percent of households headed by single men and 5.8 percent of married-couple households lived in poverty.
There are also differences between native-born and foreign-born residents. In 2009, 19.0 percent of foreign-born residents lived in poverty, compared to 13.7 percent of residents born in the United States. Foreign-born, non-citizens had an even higher incidence of poverty, at a rate of 25.1 percent.
How many children live in poverty?[3]
Children represent a disproportionate share of the poor in the United States; they are 25 percent of the total population, but 35 percent of the poor population. In 2008, 15.45 million children, or 20.7 percent, were poor. The poverty rate for children also varies substantially by race and Hispanic origin, as shown in the table below[4].

so your argument is that since black people comprise a smaller percentage of the population, the crime rates amongst us should be lower. that works theoretically, but you have to examine the conditions and standards of living for the average african american.
it is known that poverty breeds crime, not to mention the implications of living in unstable homes, which as we all know is common in the black community. while blacks make up only 13% percent of the total american popluation,
25 percent of our population is living in poverty, and
35% of our children are too!
spare me your base and bigoted reasoning as to why black people are until this day subjected to these conditions and hardships and consider the facts--blacks overwhelmingly are the "have-nots" of this country
the american dream means nothing to us! indeed, it was never intended FOR us. . . .so when you and yours have been bound from time immemorial to the lowest and most rude living conditions tolerable in a society that is designed to keep you at a disadvantage, unfortunately most people will eventually resort to desperate and destructive ways of living.
psychologically, the deviant feels as though he is rebelling against society and values his criminality as a measure of his opposition to the status quo. this is why drug dealers, who are on one of the lowest rungs of society, can within their own social circles be appreciated as examples of success in their own right.
does this mean we should excuse black/minority criminals because they have a more difficult set of circumstances? of course not. but if the necessary changes are not enacted to create a
true equality between all classes and races in america as opposed to the lip-servie model we currently live with, then it must be accepted that the statistics are a direct reflection of the imbalances and impurities in our country
