I don't believe in black or white pride. I believe in Human pride. I've been working for a company for 12 years that is owned by black person, who emigrated here from Nigeria. Educated in Europe, with multiple degrees, aside from English, he speaks fluent French, Spanish and his native tribal dialect, Yoruba: He doesn't too much care for US blacks whom he still considers as pampered whiners. I report directly to him and no one else. He doesn't believe in this pride stuff but instead pushes our staff to establish dialog or communication as a way to solve problems and of course, profitability.
The sooner we tear down these false walls that divide us, the sooner we can find the many avenues that make us all the same. This works well with the younger staff, not so much with the older people firmly entrenched in their own miasma of hate and discontent.
