I lived through Second Intifada and partly touched the First one back in 1993 and seeing now college age activists or narrative propagandists like Mehdi Hasan gaslighting people into believing that intifada means just an “uprising” and not a bloody set of violent events with suicide bombings, knife attacks and inhumane brutality that it became associated with during Israeli-Palestinian conflict

Yeah, words accumulate meanings that we intend them to mean. That’s why black swastika on a white background is associated with Nazis, not with a symbol of sun, luck and prosperity that it historically means
