Just saw this on the news so haven't given all that much thought but my initial response is: who cares?
They reported that some people are concerned that Miers or people in the administration are giving GOP Senators assurances that Miers is 'one of them'. The suspicion of such assurances have triggered a Judicial Oversight Committee investigation.
My questions are: why? what possible difference could it make? am I to believe that this doesn't happen all the time? if a senator wants to make a decision based solely, or even partially, on a whispered 'she's on our team, no doubt,' well shouldn't he be allowed to?
Anyone have any thoughts on this?
