when was the last time unleaded was $1.22?

~~~~~~
Try 1983 for gasoline at $1.22.... under a Republican president Ronald Reagan and in some states during Trump administration, It also depends upon the state. North Carolina up until January 21, 2021 the average price per gallon of regular gasoline was $1,869....
ergo this is a dumbass post
Biden did however advance us into the digital sign age.
The link has to do with private lands. But I'm ok with a Biden admin taking a year to review what oil companies have to do and guarantee before leasing on public lands.
Ford's new pickup on a unibody gets over 30 mpg. This isn't rocket science ... well maybe it is. LOL
US is producing more oil that it ever has due to shale oil and advances in drilling which started under Obama. In fact We regain the lead from OPEC.
OPEC now has had to get Russia and a few others to join them in order to take that lead back forming OPEC + about 2017.
OPEC can and still control oil prices. They can cut production or increase production
So you want them to produce more instead of producing less. So getting them to produce more will have more effect on prices that any increased production of US as they are not going to lower prices just for the heck of it. It is a business and the market controls the prices.
Supply and demand
if you do not like the price then drive around to you find one more better suited for your needs.
There are always some gas stations who will inflate prices and other who will undercut the competition
In 1961, Ford tried an innovative unibody design for its Styleside F-series pickup trucks. These ‘60s Ford unibody trucks were attractive, but the bold design had one major flaw: A total inability to haul.
What advances started under Obama, and how did he have anything to do with them?
Since 2014, hydraulically fractured horizontal wells have accounted for the majority of new oil and natural gas wells developed in the United States, surpassing all other drilling techniques. In 2016, nearly 70 percent of the country’s 977,000 producing oil and natural gas wells were horizontally drilled and fracked. The fracking boom is largely credited with making the United States the top producer of natural gas and crude oil in the world—a trend expected to continue as fracking becomes more efficient (with fewer rigs generating greater output) and enables access to more of the country’s fossil fuel reserves.
You know, blocking the Keystone pipeline and bombarding the industry with regulations. Here are a couple of summary articles on Obama's effect. Short story is if it wasn't for new shale oil and oil sands production during his terms, he would be known as the vicious enemy of the sector that he is.
