1.There is always the battle between good and evil, but ofttimes it can be traced to a political origin rather than any destructive ā€˜seedsā€™ found in human nature.
Western Civilization went off the rails when the people of France simply could no longer take the oppression imposed by the combination of the aristocracy and the Church.

A revolution was in order.....but the misjudgement was the targets of that revolution:

ā€œThere is always a well-known solution to every human problem--neat, plausible, and wrong.ā€ H. L. Mencken

That, of course, is the problem with socialism/atheism.

2. Rather than combat the iniquity of the particular church and the individual at fault, the intellectual elites blamed religion, worship of God, and the Bible. All of religion was attacked, even though it it should have been clear that the guidance of the Judeo-Christian faith was responsible for Western Civilization itself.

The fact was not lost in the American Revolution, which is why our nation did not become the abattoir that France did.
One of the most advanced, sophisticated nations of the 18th century kills 600,000 citizens- many of itā€™s most valuable citizens, plus some 145,000 flee the country- and the study of same is considered insignificant??? Schom, ā€œNapoleon Bonaparte,ā€ p. 253.

Human life has never been important to any version of Leftism....you can see that in the current Democrat Party.

3. With the Jacobins in control, the ā€œde-Christianizationā€ campaign kicked into high gear. Inspired by Rousseauā€™s idea of the religion civile, the revolution sought to completely destroy Christianity and replace it with a religion of the state. To honor ā€œreasonā€ and fulfill the promise of the Declaration of the Rights of Man and the Citizen that ā€œno one may be questioned about his opinions, including his religious views,ā€ Catholic priests were forced to stand before the revolutionary clubs and take oaths to Franceā€™s new humanocentric religion, the Cult of Reason. (see ā€œDemonic,ā€ by Coulter)

That set the tone for:

a.Karl Marx

b. . Bolsheviks claimed descent: ā€œHistorians of the French Revolution, which the Russians saw as a model for their ownā€¦ā€ Bolshevik Festivals, 1917ā€“1920

c. Americaā€™s Progressives/Democrats/Liberals.

Western Civilization took a wrong turn at the French Revolutionā€¦..a Left turn.

The Founding Fathers knew that only a virtuous people could be free.
That is why despots and the Left are at war with morality.

"Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports.ā€
-Thomas Jefferson

ā€œIn these sentiments, sir, I agree to this Constitution, with all its faults, if they are such; because I think a General Government necessary for us, and there is no form of government, but what may be a blessing to the people if well administered; and believe further, that this is likely to be well administered for a course of years, and can only end in despotism, as other forms have done before it, when the people shall become so corrupted as to need despotic government, being incapable of any other.ā€
-Ben Franklin

The reason that Marxists celebrate the French revolution and not the revolution in the United States is because they were two completely different movements.

The American revolution was based on fighting for liberty for basic human rights for everyone, rich and poor, as where the French revolution was just a mob action to kill all the rich folk and take their money. The French just wanted to kill their top 1%.

The American revolution was led by the most affluent within society who were the most educated within society and, therefore, the most apt to form a viable free government, and the French revolution was not. The French Revolution quickly devolved into despotism with Napoleon taking over.

One movement was based upon base human greed and the other the virtue of natural rights.

AND.......

The reason our revolution was so different from the violent, homicidal chaos of the French version was the dominant American culture was Anglo-Saxon and Christian. ā€œ52 of the 56 signers of the declaration and 50 to 52 of the 55 signers of the Constitution were orthodox Trinitarian Christians.ā€ http://www.davidlimbaugh.com/mt/archives/2010/02/new_column_libe_4.html Believers in the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, or, as they would be known today, ā€œan extremist Fundamentalist hate group.ā€

a. "The general principles on which the fathers achieved independence were... the general principles of Christianity. ...I will avow that I then believed, and now believe, that those general principles of Christianity are as eternal and immutable as the existence and attributes of God." - Letter to Thomas Jefferson, June 28, 1813

The French Revolution is the godless antithesis of the founding of America.
The French, Russian , Maoist, Democrat ones were based on hatred of the Judeo-Christian faith.

Joseph FouchĆ©, head of the de-Christianization, arranged for the ā€œbankers, scholars, aristocrats, priests, nuns, wealthy merchants, their wives, mistresses and childrenā€ to be dragged from their homes and killed by firing squads. He then wrote that Christianity in the provinces ā€œhad been struck down once and for all.ā€

In lieu of religious holidays, which were banned, the revolutionaries put on ā€œFetes of Reason.ā€ The first was in November 1793, in the Notre Dame Cathedral, which had been renamed ā€œThe Temple of Reason,ā€ with ā€œTo Philosophyā€ carved on the faƧade and the altar named the ā€œAltar of Reason.ā€ It was an ACLU fantasy come true!

The killings went on, without reason. Saint-Just demanded that people be guillotined not just for being traitors, but for being ā€œindifferent as well.ā€ And, more than passing interesting, this roving indictment was adopted by key Obama advisors William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn in the SDS anti-war pamphlet called ā€œThe Opposite of Moral is Indifferent.ā€ William Ayers, ā€œFugitive Days,ā€ p. 130.

When Colon Kapootnik took that knee, that opened the gates to Wokeness and all this wacist horse shat

The problem is the left are beyond out there and the gop is right behind them. They surely have no moral standing either in my book.

But you're not an American....you wrote this:

now I have not a patriotic bone in my body

...and this....

. Of course I will admit I don't have a patriotic bone in my body eventhough i was born in america

The pledge

You won't comprehend this:

Murica didn't make it past the 2nd president, before they started abusing their power.....Alien and Sedition Act was blatantly unconstitutional.

He's right.

It was the concept of Leftism that was the wrong turn, the methodology actually became far less physically lethalā€¦.but far more successful: control of the dissemination of information.
The success of "brainwashing."

4. " In October 1919, Lenin paid a secret visit to the laboratory of the great physiologist I. P. Pavlov, a Russian physiologist known chiefly for the concept of the conditioned reflex. In his classic experiment, he found that a hungry dog can be trained to associate the sound of a bell with food and will salivate at the sound even in the absence of food.

Lenin wanted to find out if his work on the conditional reflexes of the brain might help the Bolsheviks control European behaviour.

ā€œI want the masses of Russia to follow a Communistic pattern of thinking and reacting,ā€ Lenin explained. Pavlov was astounded. It seemed that Lenin wanted him to do for humans what he had already done for dogs.

ā€œDo you mean that you would like to standardise the population of Russia? Make them all behave in the same way?ā€ he asked. ā€œExactlyā€ replied Lenin. ā€œMan can be corrected. Man can be made what we want him to be.ā€ā€¦

5. "Over the past several decades, the progressive Left has successfully fulfilled Antonio Gramsciā€™s famed admonition of a ā€œlong march through the institutionsā€. In almost every Western country, its adherents now dominate the education system, media, cultural institutions, and financial behemoths."
Is this the end of progressive America?

Oddball got it. Im not a pessimist but it didn't take long before the abuses started. But yeah, a big one is marxism. The tenets of that socialist/communist manifesto have been adopted by the dems. They worship the govt and the state exactly what marxist wanted.
Leftism only took the abuse of power to newer and loftier heights....That power couldn't have been abused were it not there for the taking to begin with.

Let's not overlook the efforts the Founders put in to avoid just that:
Checks and balances
Separation of powers

Who could have imagined how ingenious the Left has been.....or their patience.

And in that light.....the magnificence of the latest Supreme Court decision designed to bring us back to the America of the Founders.

This week the Court has taken a giant step toward reviving the America that the Founders believed they created, not an administrative state run by bureaucrats, technocrats and unelected judges.
In a major 6-3 ruling, for the case West Virginia v. Environmental Protection Agency, limits the EPA's ability to set regulations on the energy sector a decision that poses massive implications on the Biden administration's goals to fight climate change.
The Court correctly decided that regulations of the sort the EPA claimed to have power over, are only constitutional when elected officials, the Congress, or legislatures offer them.
