"When Your Son Goes MAGA
Some liberal parents face a new, unexpected challenge: how to talk to their children who voted for Donald J. Trump.

It is easy for Alex Behr to gush about her son, Eli, whom she describes as a generous and thoughtful college junior who had a serious skateboarding phase.

It is much harder for her to talk about his politics. Ms. Behr, 59, is a Democrat in Portland, Ore., who voted enthusiastically for Vice President Kamala Harris in the November election. She and her ex-husband were appalled that Eli, 20, decided to cast his first vote in a presidential election this fall for Donald J. Trump.

When Eli brought a “Make America Great Again” hat home from college this summer, Ms. Behr threw it into the corner of his bedroom. They argued about guns, immigration and abortion, struggling to do so without permanently damaging their relationship.

“facts don’t matter to you,” Ms. Behr wrote in a moment of frustration during one text exchange about Mr. Trump’s legal battles. “love you. have a good day.”"

Young Americans want a bright American dream future with MAGA, not the managed decline of the Marxist Democrats and Rinos.

I can see why young impressionable people would buy in. I see it with my nephews.

Let’s see if republicans can keep their support.

If they make good money under trump they will

Maybe, they just would like a job and the ability to buy a house someday?
Right. So if in four years they’re struggling and not saving enough to buy a home, and retire by 67…

Republicans will try to convince them that buying a home is over rated. Just like their solution to college costs is don’t go.

When a child finds out the "facts" the parents have been force feeding them for years are untrue ... they will naturally seek out the truth on their own.
Like kids who leave their parents religion.

or when a young person disagrees with their conservative Archie bunker dad

My daughter, through college, was somewhat liberal and was buying into the mob leftists mentalities saw on campus. Now that she has graduated, making her own money, she is turning more moderate, fiscally conservative and socially moderate. She too thinks that the left is going TOO far down paths. Trans Women in female sports, and the idea that children should start hormone therapies and or transition ideology while children. She's a nurse, former athlete, does well for herself in her mid-twenties. She and I are still advocates for LGB... but the trans ideologies are going too far. And now that she making money, and has earned her money, she has a greater respect for those that work hard and reap the rewards for their efforts.

Just like a Democrat..........when somebody doesn't think like you, start screaming intolerance, sprewing ingnorance, and projectiong the problems they have created onto all others, and then BLAMING you for everything THEY'VE done thats fucke up this country.

One of the perversities and disappointments of life is that you cannot make your offspring LIKE what you like, BELIEVE what you believe, or BEHAVE as you behave (and want them to behave).

One of the most often stated questions of the parents of adults is, "Where did I go wrong?"

The writer of that article acts like her political beliefs should trump (see what I did there?) her love for her children. That is not what a parent should be saying. I have a daughter who vehemently disagrees with me politically and who attempted to start an argument with me the last time I saw her. In fact, she cited the barrier she and her husband erected between them and her father-in-law because of politics and basically challenged me to see what I would do. I simply said that my politics stop at my door, and she understood immediately that my love for her will never be broken because of some politician or other. Christ rules in my house, not TRUMP! and not Kamala.

People like the writer, whether they acknowledge it or not, are on a slope that leads to violence, mayhem and death. How many get pushed just a little further down that slope every time their loved ones reject them over politics?

That's every Democrat's dream.
Don’t be a uniparty dupe.

Both parties are essentially criminal gang’s controlled by the same billionaires and big corporations.

If you can’t see this after all the evidence in front of your eyes, you never will.

The parents might want to consider and take an inward look at what their "rebellious youth" is rebelling against.

It makes sense, Eli saw how FUBAR the ideals his now divorced parents believe in and thought, Nah, I don't want that kind of life, I want something different.

No different than the youth of another past era that did not want any part of the factory/corporate life but overlooked the stability of it all.

Just goes to show everything comes full circle by and by.....Hell, who knows, his generation might make having kids, working for the same employer, and pensions great again. ;)

.

If a young person cannot seem to figure out how to save enough money to buy a home and raise a family ...
Then they are doing it wrong ... :auiqs.jpg:

Best place to start looking for an alternative is in their stupid ideology ...
That might suggest it could be someone else's fault or responsibility to handle or even care about their incompetence.

You're not entitled to the life you want to live ...
You have to fucking earn it you fools ...

.

Cut such people out of your will.

You did not do it the American way to give it to unAmerican freaks.
