When There Is Too Much Winning.......

I don't take Trump seriously when he's spouting off after being attacked for the 9,745,934th time by the completely corrupt media we have in this country.
As for the FCC, I think Carr was well within his job description to question the license of ABC. The public airwaves are licensed for a reason: they need to show at least a modicum of fairness. ABC doesn't. Between their late night show, their news and The View (which is, unbelievably, a product of their news division), it is a leftist propaganda machine. Therefore, I think a little investigation into whether or not they are serving the American public may be warranted.
"Once Carr was in power, he no longer supported the speech he'd recently promoted.

Fortunately, some Republicans pushed back.

Sen. Rand Paul: "Brendan Carr has got no business weighing in on this."

Sen. Ted Cruz: "I like Brendan Carr ... but what he said there is dangerous as hell."

It was."
Op.Cit.

At the time, opposing a monarchy meaning all men are created equal. This meant no royalty not that slaves were equal.
Most liberal ideal of the era

Liberals evolve to face new social challenges …Abolition, rights of women, rights of workers, civil rights, gay rights

Conservatives?
Not so much
/----/ Don't get a hernia backpedaling.

Believe it or not, I sometimes disagree with Senators Cruz and Paul. Go figure, huh?

When a broadcast network like ABC doesn't even make an attempt at fairness, maybe a little tweak is in order.
Cable, streaming, etc. is different. But the FCC has a purpose and it's been laughed at for too long.

I've never seen your posts before.....look forward to more of them.

Welcome to the board and the battles.

This is the place to outline your disagreements.

From the OP:
" I was relieved when Donald Trump, campaigning for the presidency, said, "If we don't have free speech, then we just don't have a free country!"

BTW.....I objected to the adinistration going after Mahmoud Khalil for his objectionable speech, as well.

Liberals wrote the Constitution

We the People….
Whatever they were, we did not have a huge, bloated high tax government at that time. They did write Freedom. they did not say Communism, Socialism Capitalism or anything else. Whatever system or system types we have. However, most socialisms, communisms and fascism do not have much in freedoms. Even the more successful Euro socialisms are taking freedoms away for different affronts to the state mandated edicts. Europe is becoming more dictatorial. Freedom of speech is limited.

Sorry Skippy, but you don’t get to play both sides of the fence

I’m not the one trying, Squidtard. That would be you.
Conservatives of the day supported the King
Yeah. And?
Liberals used to Tar and Feather them
Yeah. And?
What we call……The Good Ole Days
Nonsense.

It is today’s conservatives who value and support and defend the Constitution.

You lot (starring such luminaries as Obumbler) considered the Constitution to be a charter of negative rights. Omg. Imagine a binding charter of government authority which limits what the government may do and what it may not do. The horror!

It explains why he declared that he sought to “fundamentally” change America.

As I correctly suggested before, Squidtard, no “liberal,” in the days of the founding and framing, would even recognize today’s lot of alleged “liberals” as being “liberals” in the sense it was then understood. A classical liberal is a conservative.

Your morphed version of the term “liberal” isn’t classical liberal (like the founders and framers). Again, conservatives are the ones who place stock in the actual Constitution.

One second:

The Founders believed in freedom, in individualism, in free markets.

That liar smears our Founders as this sort: Liberals, Progressives, Socialists, Bolsheviks, Communists....this sort.

Socialist Zohran Mamdani called for ‘abolition of private property,’ resurfaced video shows

The Republican National Committee ridiculed New York City socialist Democratic mayoral nominee Zohran Mamdani, posting a resurfaced video of him supporting “the abolition of private property.…

For many years we on the Right have claimed that you subscribe to a party based on a foreign ideology. Now it is clear and out in the open.

The Mamdani Democrat party stands for abolishing private property, socialis/communism, anti-Semitism, and racism.

And a Dem Senator said this should be the direction of the party.

Obama has made it clear he is down with this Marxist.

Jeffries just endorsed the commie.

And that scum you wrote to said this represents our Founders.

The conservatives of those days also supported slavery.

This is another silly thread. The right is not for freedom of speech. That's why they have opposed the freedom to teach certain topics and have banned books.

The current administration is not for the Constitution. They violate it daily. The Trump administration is trying to suppress free speech and free expression, unless it is what he wants expressed. This is an authoritarian regime, but people like the OP like it because she thinks it is stopping the libs.

So Poli Chic make sure that wherever in New York you are, take your papers, because Asians will be stopped by ICE. This is what you support.

The founders believed that only people who owned property should be given rights.

Wrong again Skippy

Today’s Conservatives support the elites and big business …..just like they did 250 years ago

Liberals supported the common man
Just like today

Sorry Squidtard. I already demonstrated that you’re flatly wrong.

FFS, even your favorite commies are beneficiaries of Capitalism — like Bernie with three houses or the many Dim millionaires in Congress.

Take Pelosi for example. Her stock market trades are really excellent since she is more than happy to use insider information.

Your elected officials are the elites.

Where is all this winning going on?

That was the time. No one is whitewashing it. The Constitution would not have been passed without the 3/5 th part in it. And it was not passed in that manner for the South. It was passed for the North as they would have more representation in the federal government. Slavery sucked. So did many ways of living for the indentured and citizens in a rougher time in a rougher environment. Ther were many slaves who were better people with humanity then many so-called free people. So, since you are so interested. Get the names of the people involved in financing the slave trade in Europe and the names of the slave ship Captains. For they were in on it. You are the one with the never-ending complaining. All of the slave literature, dramas, movies, etc. and we do not know the names of the people who benefitted from it.

1.The Constitution is the only document the people of the free country of America have agreed to be governed by.
I'm gonna call this the most important part of the document: ""Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech..."

2. I'm a conservative, a supporter of Trump, and a believer in Lord Acton's warning that power corrupts.
Great article by Stossel....

3. " I was relieved when Donald Trump, campaigning for the presidency, said, "If we don't have free speech, then we just don't have a free country!"
Democrats, by contrast, had been eagerly censoring. During Covid, they threatened social media companies, ordering them to censor the internet.

"They are directly speaking to millions!" complained Kamala Harris, "without any level of oversight, and that has to stop!"
Fortunately, once Trump was reelected, he told his staff: "Stop all government censorship."
Hooray!

4.But now that Trump's president, and getting lots of criticism from the media, he's started calling speech that he doesn't like "illegal." "They'll take a great story, and they'll make it bad. I think that's really illegal, personally."

He also threatened TV stations: "They give me only bad publicity ... maybe their license should be taken away."
"There's free speech, and then there's hate speech," said his attorney general, Pam Bondi. "We will absolutely target you ... if you are targeting anyone with hate speech."

They will "target" people?

5. Trump's FCC chairman, Brendan Carr, joined in. When Jimmy Kimmel said nasty and incorrect things about Charlie Kirk's murder, Carr threatened ABC's TV licenses, saying, like a mafia boss, "We can do this the easy way or the wawy. Yet months earlier, he'd tweeted: "Dismantle the censorship cartel and restore free speech rights."

And years earlier, he tweeted that the FCC does "not have a roving mandate to police speech in the name of the public interest."
He was right ... then.

But power tends to corrupt."

yer chosen one literally truthed out an AI vid of him shitting on americans exercising their ...

are you ready? ...

their 1st amendment right to peacefully assemble & address the gov'ment of their grievances.

donny shit on the constitution.

you think that's winning?

The US Constitution is the most important government document ever made for its people. Ah, the First Amendment, because of our founder's ignorance regarding the religions of the world, we have been saddled with accepting the influx of people who are so intrinsically tied to a religion that remains deeply committed to its 7th century beginnings that its people have no problem killing non-believers in an ongoing campaign to conquer the world and their numbers are growing.
I'm a big supporter of Trump as well, however, when all you hear from your opposition is ongoing, relentless hatred, day and night, it wears on you. The left's goal is to continue spewing the hatred and call for violence, as well as to pay protesters to "act out" to get the administration to do what they want, reigning in the First Amendment's "freedom of speech." In the past, they openly claimed that speech deemed offensive or unpopular, must be curtailed by the government.
I would say that Trump needs to just ignore the hate spewed at him, but as the left's actions and words are designed to provoke negative/violent actions by its supporters. So, what's he to do?

Trump is the main inciter of violence.
