The Onion posted this video, and it is parody absolutely. But when does Parody actually tell the truth? It sort of has to before it is considered good. The best humor after all, has truth in it. Sam Kinneson was hilarious as he described his answer to the Famine in Somalia. He screamed at the audience that it was Sand, nothing grows here, nothing is going to grow here, it's fucking sand. Get your kids get your shit, we'll make one trip, and take you to where the food is asshole.

In this case, the parody is a bit by a guy pretending to the a Police Officer.

Now before you say that is bullshit and the cops don't really go out planning to violate the rights of the citizenry, you might hold off a bit. As I said, the best parody has truth in it.

Police falsely told a man he couldn’t film them. ‘I’m an attorney,’ he said. ‘I know what the law is.’

NYPD Officer Allegedly Arrested A Man For Filming Him, Then Deleted The Footage

It is a funny thing when parody reflects the truth of life. It is not so funny when life reflects the parody.
