Historically is it called variolation, and is how medical professionals have always kept the death toll of most epidemics to a minimum. (The only exception being epidemics that are too lethal, like Ebola, and require total quarantine instead.)
The point is the doctors and nurses are afraid to speak out against what the politicians like Fauci are saying, which is that we should "flatten the curve".
And that has to change.
If the doctors and nurses fail to do their duty and instead promote or remain silent about this failed strategy of waiting for vaccines, then they are part of the problem,
