Yes in numbers they were worse but not in systemic, meticulous and inhumane planning. This focus was primarily on the cleansing of an entire religion in Europe. Todays generation lacks the understanding and grave appreciation of just how cruel this period in history was. We are slowly but surely devolving back to this period as a betrayal in the belief in G-d is once again becoming fashionable. When men lose their humanity and are no longer willing to fight for basic good, evil will enthusiastically fill the vacuum.

And you are wrong in case of Jews. The Soviets also persecuted religious Jews. Maybe they stopped to do so during World War 2 - but Stalin continued to persecute and to murder Jews also after world war 2 up to his death in 1953.
