What would happen the United States if all of the Liberals left?...

'
Why worry about the imbecilities brainwashed "liberals" and "conservatives" waste their lives believing? Most of them are getting old and will be dying soon -- what does it matter what either of them think?

They will be replaced by docile drones raised playing computer games and only concerned about transient fashions and pop-stars.

They will be products processed by the slaughter houses of 21st century "civilization" and won't even know to what the words "conservative" and "liberal" referred.
.

I feel like this complaint is made about every generation.

I'm sorry. I like you, man, but come on. Not a single conservative in national politics? The country has been lurching further and further to the right for 40 years.

No frigging way, Polk!

There is not a single conservative in national politics and that goes for either socially or fiscally.

It is a sad state of affairs.

Immie

There were plenty of ideas in mainstream political circulation in the early 1970s that are considered so far to the left today you can barely get Democrats to endorse them, much less garner any Republican support.

That does not by any means, mean that today's politicians are conservative. It simply means the assholes can't yet justify the intrusion on personal freedoms they dreamed of in the 70's... But give them time.

It's means they're more conservative today than they were then, and they get more conservative all the time. Look at Obama's signature accomplishment. It was the right-wing alternative to Clinton's proposal, which itself was basically a warmed-over version of what Nixon had pushed.

No, it doesn't. It only means they know now is not the time. It means they realize timing is everything.

Remember Obama's words about universal healthcare? He said it could not pass now, but in 15 to 20 years they would win.

If your goal was to advance more liberal policy, moving the levers further and further to the right surely is an odd way to do it.

From my perspective I see the trend to the left continuing until, bang, reality hits them square in the face, they will be morally and financially broke, it will be ugly and painful, unfortunately it will happen, and the US will resemble a second class nation, barely able to feed and defend itself.

For those that view the right as intruding in the life of it's citizens, I have news for you, after the left is finished the only rights one will have left will be replaced with the responsibility to serve government at its beck and call.

The United States would cease to exist in pretty short order. The right does not believe in almost any part of the Constitution so there would be no need for it.

If not liberals, there would never have been a Revolution. The US would be a third world, starving failure within a generation.

No, it only means they have not advanced their cause as far as they would like.

If liberals left the nation would return to the gilded age of robber barons where just a very few at the top hold the nations wealth while everybody else struggles, we seem to be on our way there any way but liberals leaving would greatly speed up the process.

Not only have they not advanced their cause, they're in full-scale retreat.

Guaranteed minimum income.

Nope.

The EIC is not the same. Leftist have tried to fabricate what Friedman said for decades - it remains a fraud.

Universal pre-K.
Banning discrimination on the basis of sex.

Both were far left democrat ideas - both are still pushed by the leftist nutjobs of the DNC.

At one time the ERA did gain some small traction - then the nation was educated to what a fraud it is.

They're far left ideas today, but there in the political mainstream 40 years ago. That was sorta the point of the discussion...

They were never "mainstream," thus they are not law and never had support beyond the fringe.

The extreme fringe of the left is weaker today than 40 years ago - but the hard left is more powerful than ever - with a man raised as a Communist - by registered Communists, mentored by a Communist, now in the white house.

Standard Disclaimer: Barack Obama's grandparents, Stanley and Madelyn Dunham were registered members of the Communist party (CPUSA.) The mentor they selected for young Barry was Frank Davis, a Communist activist and anti-white racist.

Oh, no!! You mean it will be the way it was when George W. Bush was in power?

Anything but that!! Where can I sign up to join the John Birch Society?

Never had support beyond the "extreme fringe of the left"? Someone should go back in time and tell President Nixon about that.

My favorite MacArthur story was the time he got really snippy with FDR, who quickly put him in his place.
