What should be the primary trait in the next president? In my opinion it's as it always has been, courage. Like or lump Trump, he has courage.

This to me is the key personality trait a man (or woman) must have when facing down the challenges the West currently must address.

So when I hear named bandied about I must first ask "does this person have courage"?

Biden actually had a bit of courage in him, even if it was undiplomatic when he called Putin a thug and Xi a thug on separate incidents, I can respect him for expressing himself and indirectly supporting Western values as historically driven by America. I agreed with him keeping Trumps tariffs on China, his folies were allowing an open border and the signing of the I.R.A (along with re-entering the Paris Accord which hurts the middle class of the West).

Regardless, at least he showed a pulse from time to time. I can disagree with a man be it Tucker Carlson, Netanyahu, Zelensky or some far left radical, but if they show some courage in their conviction (and allow others to debate), I will give them the time of day. If they face the fire I can't fault them for having heart and commitment.

Trump at his peak though was the most courageous in our lifetime. He didn't exactly have the "tear down this wall moment", but he came close with his U.N speeches and calling out leaders right to their faces. Who can forget showing a video to African leaders at the Whitehouse? Surviving an assassination and telling his supporters to "fight" will be remembered long after his term ends.

Thus, whoever you choose in 3 years must have courage. We don't need diplomacy. We need straight talk and courage.

Now, you can run down a list in your own minds of who might fit that definition.

Damning with faint praise?

Your threads are always good for a belly laugh.

Total dupe.

some military background, someone that knows not only how to give orders, but how to take them. that knows that the orders he gives could well mean death and destruction and be hesitant to give those orders.

Someone that follows the law as written and not try to make the law themselves.

A person that rules by conviction, and not polls.

I agree that courage is one of the most important traits for a president, but it's also important that, that courage not be coupled with very negative ideas and actions about how to run the nation.
These aren't traits but they are things I want in a president:
1. Pro-USA.
2. Pro-Constitution.
3. Pro-Military.
4. Anti-Foreign intervention.
5. Anti-Islam.
6. Anti-Marxism.

15th post
First and foremost, it should involve a desire to do positive things for the American people.

Sure, Baby Jesus...

lowered federal income taxes for Americans that actually pay federal income taxes but what has he done for democrats?

5. Anti-Islam.

The Old Testament is full of all kinds goofy rules but then The Real Jesus came along and fixed all that.

Does Islam need Mohamed II: The Sequel? "I didn't literally mean 'behead' them. And trust me, now that I'm here you really don't want 72 wives. Leave the seat up once and every one of them has a speech. But can I have a urinal? No, that would be tacky. And forget about watching football. There are so many plot holes in 'Little House on the Prairie.' Try hiding porn from 72 snooping b!tches. I'm digging three(3) different tunnels outta here. Tom, Dick and Hassan Chop. Fu(k, they're coming. If they catch you bite down on this tooth..."

What Islam needs is to be completely expunged. I'd prefer to actually see the end of the Abrahamic religions. If any religion were to take over, I'd prefer it to be Buddhism. But secular is the best way to go.
