The mistake most of us make is to see lies from opposition politicians and ignore, or at least see as necessary, lies from politicians we support.

In fact, no one who has to garner public support will ever receive that support by telling the entire, unvarnished support.

We want politicians to tell us they will give us what WE want and make sure the people we don't like don't get what they want.

We want politicians to tell us that OUR problems will get fixed and other people's problems will be ignored or at least that fix won't affect us negatively.

Politicians lie to us because we demand that they do if they want our vote.
