What is Your Favorite Romanic Comedy?

Too many to narrow it down to one.

Blast from the Past. It could never be made today, but it was great.

Major and the Minor. Oldie but goody. Again, could not be made today.

Honorable Mention: Kate and Leopold. Great script that doesn't follow the standard predictable time travel conventions.

Roman Holiday
Great vehicle for Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn. One scene in the movie, "The Monument of Truth" has created a tourist attraction in an unusually way.

Throughout the film shoot, director William Wyler filmed many takes to get scenes right. During the “Moment of Truth” scene though, the shot only required one take. Without Audrey Hepburn’s knowledge, Gregory Peck hid his hand in his sleeve so that when he took it out, it would look like his hand had been eaten. Hepburn’s reaction is real and spontaneous, exactly what Wyler wanted to capture on film. When word of Peck's unscripted loss of his hand got out, people came from miles to see the famous Moment of Truth rock. It remains a tourist attraction to this day.

There is nothing that audience love more than to see actors delivering a great spontaneously performance. The movie is available on Prime.

I think gist of both stories could be used in a movie today but they would have to be modernized.

Critics liked the movie The Major and the Minor and there was never any comment implying a lecherous relationship between the Major and the Minor. The world was a lot different then.

Rom Coms are by far my least favorite genre.
The best one out there, IMO, is going to be Money Pit. Probably because it doesn't follow the template.

The Apartment (1960)
There aren’t many movies that would push its two central characters together by having one discover the other after she attempts suicide. But that’s what’s enabled “The Apartment” to endure for decades. It may be more than 60 years old, but it’s still just as effective today as it was when it first hit screens.

Great movie

Ha.... never seen that one.
Thanks!
Actually Money Pit was better. Mr. Blanding Builds his Dream House was very funny in it's day and Cary Grant was excellent in the role. However, it is pretty dated. Many of funny the episodes have found there way into newer movies, a few of them may be in Money Pit.

French Kiss with Meg Ryan and Kevin Kline

Also

Two Weeks Notice With Sandra Bullock and Hugh Grant.

Both have great chemistry between the actors and back and forth banter.

Honorable mention to The Wedding Singer and Blended. Don’t know why but I like Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler paired together.
