Zone1 What is Wrong with Inequality?

Was de-regulation of the airline industry a good thing or a bad thing?
You said regulating capitalism is causing less money to the masses. Go ahead and back that up. Safety regulation make people safer and do increase costs, sure. But being dead cheap is not better than paying more and being alive.... if that is what you are referring to. The main regulations are about safety and fairness.. 40 hour work week, overtime pay, OSHA guidelines for safety, minimum wage, minimum age requirement. But if we dont want government to pay for minimum levels of safety nets then they need to be provided by the market through regulations.

Biden and Obama maintained the strongest military on earth

US needs to stop being the worlds policeman and rely on allies to bear most of the burden in their region
I'll bet you typed that with a straight face too! :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg:All of my kids served under Obama and Biden. They would vehemently disagree. That is when they left the military.

Really?

How was the military budget slashed?
How many ships were decommissioned?
How was the force structure reduced?

What nation had a stronger military than US?

You never heard of sequestering funds? Lots of ships were decommissioned. Force structure was reduced numerous times. Almost none of the services could not make their recruiting goals. Biden required vaccination for new recruits and almost killed the military. He allowed trannies into the military.

You forget I worked for the Army recruiting during this time period.

I seriously worry that you have Biden's disease since you cannot remember shit! That must be why, because no one deserves to be that stupid!

Let’s break this down:

Is missing recruiting goals something that only happened under Biden or Obama? Obviously not — recruiting shortfalls have hit under both parties, including during wars.

Are force reductions uniquely a “Democrat” thing? Again, no. The military has gone through restructuring under every administration, including under Trump and Bush.

And as for “trannies killing the military” — besides being a slur, that’s just factually false. The Pentagon has reviewed this. There’s zero evidence that allowing trans people to serve impacts readiness or cohesion.

So no — these aren’t Biden problems. They’re long-term, structural, and politically exaggerated. Different argument entirely.

Also, maybe take a breath before diving into personal insults. If your biggest emotional reaction is to a tiny group of Americans wanting to serve their country, that says more about your priorities than it does about military policy.

Biden required vaccination for new recruits and almost killed the military.

I don’t know if you realize it, but military personnel have always been required to get vaccinations.

The decision is made by command and what a soldier or sailor reads on conspiracy sites does not come into consideration

I can see why you don't want to answer, it destroys your argument.

Regulation is about much more than safety. It causes higher prices, less competition and less opportunity.

If you can't see how that causes less money to the masses, I can't help you.

Of course they are. They're never about power, control, benes for lobbyists, scoring points in the culture war, or paying off supporters. Never anything like that

Why dont we allow Monopolies?

Why dont we allow Monopolies?

The government is a monopoly in itself, and when you have a select few making the rules on who, what, where, when, and how for all business/s it isn't good.

Now answer my question.

Was de-regulation of the Airline Industry good or bad?

Biden and Obama both ran the military into the ground. Carter did the same thing; I was there and saw it. No money for training, no supplies, no spare parts for vehicles, under Carter we were recycling vehicle batteries with worn out plates that wouldn't hold a charge.

So you wont answer the question i asked FIRST? Try again. Why are monopolies that form in pure capitalism regulated? The answer is because they are bad for everyone. Unregulated business is evil and exploitive.

To answer your question: Airlines are not deregulated. They have a zillion regulations. There was some modest reductions in competitive regulation and results were mixed. Sure it lowered average airfares and increased passenger volume but it bankrupted smaller airlines and killed service to smaller communities but most of all it has created an environment where airlines abuse passengers through overbooking, cancellations, and a spikes in delays.

What we are talking about are the needs of capitalism to be regulated to ensure the workers get paid a fair wage with fair benefits and not EXPLOITED. It’s the only way.

I asked first, so.
I just don’t get why you guys lie about things easily disproved.

Competition would do that better than a select few people setting the rules.

And, the Deregulation Act of 1978 proved it.

How do you keep workers from being exploited?

Obviously, some regulation is needed but more competition and more opportunity would be the best way.

Regulations are used in many instances to keep competition out.
That's all I've been saying. This has fallen apart which is why workers have lost out in the economy. Free market wont keep the masses from being exploited. The system is set up against them.
