Zone1 What is Wrong with Inequality?

Wrong, I want FREEDOM. Freedom to achieve or fail by my own actions, not by standards set by some faceless appointed bureaucrat who isn't responsible to anyone.

So you don’t want a police force or fire department telling you what to do, environmental regulations, zoning laws, municipal planning, clean water, sewers

You know….Civilization

Ahhh. the go-to strategy. Let's pretend liberty really means anarchy!

Is there anything you don't want government in charge of?

Police, zoning municipal planning, water supply, sewers and fire are local responsibilities. Environmental regulations have done more harm than good. Look at California for examples, the Coastal Commission regulates everything from the mean low water mark to sometimes as far as five miles inland, the Santa Monica Mountain Conservancy stifles all development in or near the mountains, the Southern California Air Quality Management District has restricted diesel emissions from trucks, ships and even locomotives raising costs to the consumers by enormous amounts and constricting the flow of goods out of and into Los Angeles and Long Beach harbors. The EPA keeps increasing the emissions controls well after the point the law of diminishing returns has taken effect and mandates all the electric cars that no one wants to buy. The Feds claim shallow streams are navigable water ways in order to regulate the owners of the land they traverse.

Doesn’t justify a military that is bigger than the next nine combined. Where is the threat?

Where does the Constitution allow military deployment around the world?

We deserve the best public services money can buy. Schools, medical care, transportation, parks
The PRC now, the USSR before, Nazi Germany and Japan before that. Our military enforces freedom of navigation. Would you rather see a Pax China rather than a Pax Americana? We are the most benevolent superpower in the history of the planet. I'd much rather see us setting the rules than a despotic dictatorship like China.

We are the worlds watchdog deploying military around the globe.
EU is capable of containing Russia
Japan, S Korea, Philippines, Australia should take the lead against China
US should be in a support role

You are playing games
Regardless of local, county, state or federal government…..they are still telling you what to do

Environmental rules keep us a civilized society
I saw the 60s and 70s before those pesky environmental rules

Conservatives and libertarians don't oppose environmental regulation. It's just a question of extent. And the liberals' habit of using the environment as an excuse for more state control of business doesn't help the cause.

Next?

They don’t oppose environmental regulation as lomg as it doesn’t cost money

As soon as it does they are willing to ignore it

Yeah, yeah, yeah - you've peered inside their minds and discovered their secret evil motives.

Where forced equality is implemented, there are people who put the work in that feel like suckers for following the rules and watching those who don't profit from the labor of those said people following the rules.
Preppy Progressives

The Entitled invented entitlements because they never worked for their Daddy's Money.

China has change it a bit by allowing some private ownership in businesses and by doing this has created a middle-class

Red China has the exact same middle class it had under Mao: The Cadre. And yes, membership, and at least most of the leadership positions there are inherited by class. The famous billionaire 'Jack Ma' is Cadre, for instance.

I put Ma's name in quotes because few in the West outside f intelligence agencies know the real names of upper level Cadre members. 'Jack' isn't a Chinese name. lol

OhmyGod! Do you really think blacks can do the jobs that those Indians can do? Are you unaware of the educational level between the two? Sheesh!

Don't be fooled by the Indians you meet here, or Asians in general.. There are more than enough stupid Chinese and Indians to go around. As long as you never visit their countries and see them first hand, it's easy to believe they're all well educated n stuff. They aren't.

They're shrewd. An Indian student tenant just moved out leaving a badly clogged up kitchen sink from food scraps. But he cleaned the sink making it look like it was ok. I will probably have to use sulfuric acid to clear the clog.

The biggest problem I have with Indians is that I can hardly understand a word they are saying.

Actually it comes down to priorities

Republicans choose to prioritize expanding a bloated military, birthday parades and tax cuts for billionaires over people’s healthcare and supporting children.

You don’t care about debt
And you still want to claim we can drastically expand the "safety net", even though we would have to borrow astronomical amounts of money to do it, with no negative impacts? You know that's where the wheels fell off your tricycle.

Let's say we cut military spending in half, freeing up $400 billion a year and putting that into socialized medicine. I would give it 3 years before the same people (that's you, in case you didn't know) would be clamoring that it wasn't nearly enough and it just wasn't fair that the wealthy could afford things others could not. IOW, right where we are now. And that's not even accounting for the chaos the world would fall into when Uncle Sam pulls up roots and leaves because we're not going to the world's police force anymore. Thank goodness we don't have to pay for big birthday parades for anyone.

Better to make that net a trampoline so people can get back on their feet instead of landing in a lifetime of dependency.

LOl that's why I never advertised my rentals and used word of mouth to get word out, and most often only at the air force base.

We're in a student area, near the university, with lots of international students. We can't discriminate. Most of them are ok tenants but some are terrible housekeepers.

I used word of mouth when I owned my own apartment building. Worked out great.

Again it comes down to priorities
We pay to be the worlds policeman

Other countries that spend less on defense have better healthcare, modern infrastructure, affordable education

We just added $150 billion to our military

They can spend less on defense because we ARE the world's police force. Let Uncle Sam pull out of Europe and Asia and watch the military budgets soar and social safety nets get cut.

Makes zero sense

Makes zero sense
Do you deny that the American military's presence in Europe allows European nations to spend less on defense? How trusting, for one example, would France and England be to watch Germany ramp up military spending after America leaves? How trusting would Russia be with America not on the scene?

You need to think beyond your borders. It is in living memory that Germany and Italy devastated Europe.
