What is Romeny hiding from the public?

That he’s not a conservative, that he believes in responsible pubic policy and that government can have a real and positive impact on Americans’ lives – that government isn’t ‘the enemy.’

Indeed, Romney and Huntsman are the only true republicans in the race, reflecting the common sense and decency that no longer exist in the GOP.

For Romney, of course, this poses a problem: how to negotiate the dire straits of rightist extremism? So he pretends to be a conservative nitwit hoping all will be forgotten once the general election arrives.

But it’s a lose/lose for Romney, he’ll either be perceived as a rightwing nut case or a republican Obama – either way the general voting public will reject him accordingly.

He's a (gasp!) Mormon!!!!!

Zander, do you think that will really take it's toll at the polls? I know everyone is avoiding the issue. Is it that they don't really care? Or is it a "no no" to bring up? Is it going to be confused with the FDLS?

I don't think it will matter at all. After all, it's not like he is associating with convicted domestic terrorists that tried to blow up the pentagon! And it is not like he bought land at fire sale prices from a convicted felon who is in jail for extorting millions of dollars from firms seeking state business. It's not like he's an unknown junior senator with ZERO executive experience. Those things will kill a candidacy!! Right?

No, it will not be an issue- not in the north, the east, the west, or even the south. In an election where we have 2 choices - Obama... or "anyone else" - "Anyone else" wins.
