What Is Racism?

Yet here you are using the avatar of a innocent dead young black child to try to prop yourself up as someone of virtue or value.
That's your interpretation which of course is wrong. That is because you view everything through a lens of racism. I maintain my Black Deaths Matter thread as well as put up Serenity Broughton's image so she will not be forgotten. No child's life should end in her car seat with a bullet to the brain.

Were, yes and those truly reprehensible policies and institutions have definitely hindered non-whites from succeeding and slowed down progress in their communities with effects that to some extent reach tot his date. However, we cannot only blindly stare at the atrocitie of the past and let that be the glasses through which we view the present.

It is, however, equally important to look at how we learned from those horrific violations of rights and at the many great steps we have taken to improve.
Okay, so let's start with what the laws of the land "were". They were that way for centuries. The laws have only been rescinded since 1964, just about 53 years, not even 25% of the length of time since the founding of the white supremacist United States.

Without considering anything having to do with race, we know laws are violated every day for a variety of reasons, generally people just don't like being told what to do and what not to do by others.

When it comes to race though, this appears to be especially true. The beliefs and viewpoints, and nastiness directed against black people on this message board alone, even when the content is untrue and serves so other purpose than to denigrate black people, serves as insight into society in general.

There are at least 3 individuals on this message board that are self-admitted racist, well actually two racists and one white nationalist. Of those, one and several others on the board use the terms "negros" and "coloreds" as slurs seeming to relish in their use even more after they've been advised of why the terms are offensive including showing them photos such as those below.

Then there is an abundance of other posters who by their words indicate that they are racists but take offense at being called such.

Get over it already. Jews have been treated far worse, yet you don't hear them saying "Oh woe is me, you people are so anti-Semitic. Gimme some reparations."

No, it is very racist. I use words for what they actually mean and saying "You cannot understand it because you belong the group x" is very racist.
I never said that you couldn't understand what I was writing BECAUSE you are in group x (I'm not sure which group x is), I was essentially stating that either you don't appear to know the history of the United States or you're discounting it as irrelevant.

What I did say is, if you're not black, than the privilege of being white shields you form even having to think about it because it doesn't impact you at all in the way that it does black people because even though the laws are gone, the behavior which is now unlawful has never ceased.

I know where these attitudes and hatefulness originated and why it has persevered all of these years. Do you?

Always the race card. Don't try to define who I am, you don't even know me.

Personally I couldn't give a flying **** what color a person is or where he or she came from. But when that person supports an ideology that's murdered more people than Hitler, I don't look upon them too fondly.

I never considered you a radical leftist. I always thought you were more intelligent than that. So please don't prove me wrong.
So you actually think #BLM is going to commandeer the United States and slaughter all of the white people?

Jews are not people of African descent, so you can take your no nothing about anything and sit back down.

What makes you think you deserve more than those of Jewish descent? Did someone ever send 6 million black people to the gas chambers? Or are you one of those who denied that ever happened?

I read what you claim as your reasoning for why you put her photo up. Trying to look relevant and get likes off the death of a black child when all you do is denigrate black people.

That makes you the worse kind of racist.

Don't play games with me. You brought up people of Jewish descent, I haven't asked for anything nor mentioned the Holocaust but now I can better see how your sick mind works.

For the 100th time you falsely accuse me of being a racist. That's all you've got IM2. You have to cling to your fantasy because if you face the truth, your whole world falls apart. There is no more devout racist on USMB than you, your whole world revolves around it.
You are a racist, I don't know why being called on it hurts your feelings when it seems like you all go out of your way to be as offensive as you can towards black people in the comments you make here.

So you actually think #BLM is going to commandeer the United States and slaughter all of the white people?

Of course they're not. But the fact is, BLM was founded by Marxists, and I shouldn't have to school you on what Marxism is, and it's murderous history. You seem to be openly-embracing that ideology.

Any sane person would feel the same about groups like the American Nazi Party. Sure, they're not going to commandeer the United States and march everyone they don't like off the the gas chambers. But they're still Nazis.

Don't play games with me. You brought up people of Jewish descent, I haven't asked for anything nor mentioned the Holocaust but now I can better see how your sick mind works.

I'm not playing games. So tell me this: What makes you think that you were treated worse 200 years ago, than the Jews were 80 years go?

What makes you think that you have exclusive rights to feeling sorry for yourself? You don't see Jews out in the street, protesting, rioting, looting, and committing arson, do you?

You are a racist, I don't know why being called on it hurts your feelings when it seems like you all go out of your way to be as offensive as you can towards black people in the comments you make here.
Racism is born from stereotypes and stereotypes are born from common behaviorial traits...change the behavior and the racism goes away. Simple shit…no?

I'm glad my Black Deaths Matter thread has 13 thousand views. I'm hoping that my maintaining the attention on the carnage happening in the inner cities, especially the murders of innocent kids like Serenity is making a difference. Black people are determined to ignore the problem as their 'dirty little secret', which is tragic.

Racism will never end. Viewing one's group as positive and another's group as negative is encoded in our DNA. It's a survival mechanism. What can be corrected is treating different groups differently de jure. That has been done. It's illegal to discriminate based upon race, ethnicity or national origin. If you want to change how different groups view each other de facto, you are going to have to accept other groups and peacefully work to have yours accepted. You can't demand change or respect from others, it has to be earned and freely given. People like you, Paul and IM2 work very hard to destroy the respect the black Americans of the Civil Rights movement EARNED by their sacrifice and suffering. All you and people like you, are doing is moving people away from the goal that you CLAIM to want to achieve. Our perceptions, based upon your words and actions, are that you are not interested in any kind of equality, but in revenge for past wrongs. As long as your group is a minority, that will never happen because you lack the political, moral and economic power to dictate to the other 87% of the population of the USA.

Wrong. Because all white people aren't racists. So if you're not a racist or don't believe that racism is part of being white, stop acting like talking about racism means people don't like all white people.
I'm right. You have called me racist for nothing more than disagreeing with you. That is the criteria you use to define racism. Your definition is incorrect. I am neither prejudice against nor antagonistic toward any race.
I just don't agree with you, that's all...

The United States was not founded as a white supremacist nation: that is as ignorant of a claim as it is wrong. There is nothing in the founding documents that could possibly be interpreted as such. Yes, there was slavery and segregation, but fact of the matter is that those institution are in direct conflict with the ideas on which the nation was founded.

Again, I am not saying the argument that past racism has effects on the present is an illegitimate one. To some extent it is true, but the problem is that there is nothing one can actually do about the racism of the past.
When it comes to race though, this appears to be especially true. The beliefs and viewpoints, and nastiness directed against black people on this message board alone, even when the content is untrue and serves so other purpose than to denigrate black people, serves as insight into society in general.
Oh, so you saw it on the internet which must mean it is true, right?

They are clearly very immoral and evil people. But, what is your point? Bevause there are three White Nationalists on USMB everyone in the US is a White Nationalist?
We all know about Jim Crow and most agree it was a huge violation of individual rights and very, very, very racist. But, where in modern America is anyone who speaks positively about it celebrated? In the real world, anyone who does is seen as a disgusting person and rightfully so.

No, CRT explains how racism works in the American system.
CRT was created with hatred and resentment for white people...and that will never be accepted in our nation....our local school district just outlawed it in our schools....
