What is it like growing up Christian???

My parents' divorce became final two months after their 23rd anniversary.

God bless you and my mom always!!!

Holly

P.S. To me, the marriage should've ended sooner.
My parents divorced when I was five. My dad moved on, but my mother never got over it.

What's it like growing up Muslem and adhering to the hate speech in the Koran? Do they still advocate stoning the infidels to death?

Beheading is in vogue now. Teaching homo's how to fly is also favored. Daughters who dishonor their fathers can be killed in various ways.

Biblical "lies" are just truths yet to be discovered, realized, and/or understood.
I tried that on Ding but he refused to buy into it. I thought it would work as well as anything else!

But I was wrong and Ding went all the way on the bible's lies.

A Christian accepting the bibles as just 'allegorical' bs is directly proportional to one's intelligence. That is, in Ding's case IMO. He's obviously turned to science as his guide overall..

I commend you on your faith! The church's acceptance of Darwinian evolution has not made it easy for the faithful.

Science is useful, revelation is necessary.

I have never ever been fishing or hunting or camping ??

I know these are vital to Christian upbringing in America

Would have been kind of cool to experience

Plus I cannot fix anything and most Christians excel in this

Finally , could have used some good azz whoopings which may have made me a better person
memorizing the Bible, chorus competitions and travelling, Church summer camps where you learn anatomy and biology from females.

At least as necessary as drowning every living thing under 29,000 feet of rain water!

I am Charlie now!
More like 4-5,000 feet of sea water covering the high hills. 8,000 tops (there were no oxygen masks back then).

I grew up in Richmond, Va which has a very large Jewish Community. As an adult I was a member of the local JCC (I'm a gentile). Probably a 1/3 of my friends growing up were Jews.

So, to answer your question: Yeah, maybe it's a cultural thing. We all did fishing and camping, many did hunting as well. I do not remember any of my Jewish friends ever talking about any of the above. We did sports together, music, video games etc. But never the things you mentioned. I never thought of it. Strange.

My then church, the Church of Christ, out of Texas, wasn't Baptist but was Baptist leaning, so actual fun wasn't a priority at camp. They were more into saving our wretched souls than anything else. They're the ones that forbid sex because it might lead to dancing.

Did you have the fire and brimstone yellers?

I went to vacation Bible School several times as a kid. It was ok. Not great. I didn't think about my soul too much at 10 years old. :D
