Best Ichiro-perspective I've read.

It's not that we don't appreciate Ichiro, it's just that what he does isn't sexy. Hit 15 homers in a month and you're the talk of the town. Hit 50 singles and the town responds with a collective shrug. The very repetitiveness that is the source of Ichiro's greatness makes him easy to take for granted.
"I'm sure it strikes some people as boring," one National League general manager said. "You've just seen what seems like the same play so many times. But I'll tell you what, that's the kind of boring I'd love to have at the top of my lineup every day."
