This stupid woman thought this "bright idea" would cut down on grafitti.

Local merchants had another idea, because it would put the burden of checking all these IDs on THEM, and they weren't interested in having to check IDs just to sell stupid magic markers.

Well, merchants finally forced this to the ballot box where it went down in flames. This same woman who was up for reelection at the same time went down in flames as well.

Just because it's local government doesn't instantly make it sacred and beyond challenge.

Yes, I remember it well myself. I wasn't very happy about the change from paper to plastic, although I must admit, I found those plastic bags very handy when my kids were babys for disposing of disposable diapers.

Throw it in a plastic bag, tie it up and throw away. No smell in the house!

But they were forced on us by eco nuts in the first place. It was going to save the trees and we could recycle the plastic bags.
