Opinion | I'm Trump's former lawyer. Jack Smith should be celebrated, not vilified.
John Dowd: Jack Smith was once my adversary in a high-profile investigation of a Republican client. Smith was fair, impartial and fearlessly committed to the facts and the law.
Special Prosecutor Jack Smith will appear tomorrow, IN A CLOSED SESSION, BEHIND CLOSED DOORS, with the House Judiciary Committee. The committee will want to know why Smith was picking on Trump for creating an insurrection on January 6 in an effort to overturn the correct results of the 2020 presidential election, as well as his possession in Florida of classified documents, and by doing so endangering the security of the United States.
So, despite Smiths request that this hearing be public, why is the house insisting that it be behind closed doors? Simple! It's because the Republican controlled house fears mightily that facts very unfavorable to Trump, facts that will show him to be an insurrectionist and criminal of the highest order, will be made public. This way they can safely lie about what facts are actually disclosed by Smith.
More and more we see the nefarious workings of Trump's fascist state, not a pretty picture!
Bigly!!!
