Bronze Age Babylonian nonsense that not even God knows why on earth it survived to the present day, Zebra. :cheeky-smiley-018::cheeky-smiley-018::cheeky-smiley-018::cheeky-smiley-018:

I'm a crab, or an ox, depending on your zodiac. But I don't take it seriously.

It's surprising how seriously (at least on paper) many otherwise rational and intelligent Chinese people take it. My BIL who graduated university with a Master degree in engineering made sure to get married on an auspicious day. Maybe some of that was to please their parents among whom belief in the Chinese zodiac is more entrenched.

But another cousin-in-law made sure to have his first child in 2000 so she would be a dragon. That was all on him.

China's problem is that its history and culture were so successful for 4000 years that they have trouble letting go of even the smallest part of it. If Americans have the shortest cultural memories on the planet, then the Chinese have the longest, hands down.

and do you also know your ascendant?

They make about as much sense as any of the other beliefs.

The 12 signs of the Zodiac are a very interesting subject to pursue. But, it must be said at the start that 'astrology' is condemned in the Bible. The use of these signs to learn one's individual future is condemned. Plus, much false teaching has been created using these 12 signs of the Zodiac.

That said, I believe the Zodiac, in its origin, was created by God and is the original gospel revealed to man before there was any such revelation written. (Gen. 1:14) "And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night: and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years.

For something to be a 'sign' it must represent something other than what it is. And what any certain star group represents, must have been given by God to man to know. Because when you look at what the 12 star groups of the Zodiac are representing, you wonder how in the world they got that out of that star group. God simply had to have just designated the meaning with that star group and to always have that meaning only associated with it.

Again, this is not 'astrology' which is condemned by God. It's the attempt to know God's original purpose with the Zodiac. That the Zodiac has been perverted and used in an idolatrous manner only shows how Satan has been busy in perverting anything God creates.

(Matt. 2:1-2) "Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him."

(Matt. 2:9-10) "When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was."

These 'wise men' or 'magi' were studiers of the stars. And what would they see that would produce such knowledge so as to know there was a coming king of Divine origin worthy of their worship? To the degree that they would leave their homes, and travel a great distance in pursuit of this star?

do you prefer the European one or the Chinese one?

I just think they are nice games, without any truth in it
I personally had zero interest in any zodiac until some near death experiencers explained about it in a way that the idea began to make sense to me.

Now I believe that there could well be something to the idea?

2. Dannion Brinkley, the Being of Light, and Twelve Other Beings

Dannion Brinkley was led to a heavenly cathedral by a Being of Light. There he met twelve more Beings of Light representing the zodiac:

“I was able to count the beings as they stood behind the podium. There were thirteen of them, standing shoulder to shoulder and stretched across the stage. I was aware of other things about them, too, probably through some form of telepathy. Each one of them represented a different emotional and psychological characteristic that all humans have. For example, one of these beings was intense and passionate, while another was artistic and emotional. One was bold and energetic, yet another possessive and loyal. In human terms, it was as though each one represented a different sign of the zodiac. In spiritual terms, these beings went far beyond the signs of the zodiac. They emanated these emotions in such a way that I could feel them.” (Dannion Brinkley)
