That's a pretty boilerplate, hyper-partisan OP there, but I'd focus on this.Republicans are not Conservatives in any sense of the term.
In a real sense white educated and uneducated America voted hate*, hate born of many years of right wing media: Limbaugh, Savage, Coulter, Newsmax, and Fox media are only a part of the mostly rural hate machine. It hates progress and diversity, it hates what is often called political correctness, but was once considered manners and tolerance. Much of this hate is even exhibited in Evangelical Christianity's opposition to a changing, more tolerant society. Main Street media lived all this time in a self reflecting bubble in which they presented hate as if it were just spectacle. They failed too. What I actually saw.
The republicans are an unprincipled party.
Republicans elected the first candidate with no connection to truth.
Republicans are not Conservatives in any sense of the term.
Social change and rights for others brought out an enormous backlash.
Republicans blame everyone except themselves.
The republican base excuses their party, its corporate sponsors, and their own part in the economy.
The republican base does not believe in the American values of our founding documents.
Racism, sexism, misogyny, xenophobia, and bigotry define much of the republican base.
Donald Trump is a shining example of American white privilege.
Single issues manage many Republicans, demonstrating why their state and congressional governments are useless.
Republicans investigate investigate investigate, but do nothing for America and its people.
Republicans have the first Twitter brained candidate as their leader.
Make America great was a dog whistle which was heard clearly.
Fifty years of right wing republican radio has created a non reflective know nothing base which blames everyone except itself.
Main stream media refuses to accept the reality of the American electorate.
A sense of alienation mixed with hate remain powerful instigators of action, thirty years of Hillary hatred created a myth.
A myth believed by republicans and others.
What will republicans do now that they cannot investigate the Clintons?
Summary comment will be next due to space.

Great post as is the follow up.
I think the Democrats, as Michael Moore states on Morning Joe, catered to everyone except the people that have been who THEY are forever. White working class people.
The Democrats took them entirely for granted and fawned over and championed everyone else and white working class people, enough of them anyway, didn't like it. The Republicans that voted for piece.of.shit trump were people that saw too much societal change happening too fast and were scared, as they always are.But the only reason p.o.shit trump won with a razor thin margin in a couple battleground states was because the working class whites there felt left out. Moore pointed out that HRC lost Michigan by maybe 15,000 votes. A blip on an electoral chart. But 90,000 people in Detroit when they voted left the Presidential part of the ballot empty. They didn't vote for anyone, and that made the difference in that state no doubt. A similar story will play out in PA and WI.
But to the OP and this is the most disturbing thing of the election. We learned Republicans will vote for ANYONE that carries their water. Anyone. Evangelicals and so-called 'christians' on the right have taken their mask off for good. They do not live by morals or any code. Their only purpose is to gain power at any cost and by voting even for Satan if he were running. This is the important take away from p.o.shit trump winning. That such a large group of Americans have absolutely no moral compass at all.

I could not stand to read any further than the quoted section above. You claim that hate and intolerance were the driving factors in "white educated and uneducated America", then go on to blame that hate on right-wing media. This may all be true, I see it differently, but you may be partially right at least. Then you say "it" (rw media?) hates political correctness, a statement that is literally correct, but is functionally incomplete. It is not that many people hate "PC", it is that many people object to the premise of it. Let me explain. Some interesting replies, but what now? Trump is not even president and yet many on all sides of the political spectrum shake their heads and wonder what next. Personally his election will have no effect on our family, what will it do for America? Many people fear the consequences of a lawless presidency outside the decorum barriers set up so long ago, is this the beginning of America's decline. The rise the alt right scares many and hopefully we don't see a return to a McCarthyist world. I ponder what Trump will do when his poll ratings fall? He is so thin skinned and insecure a narcissist how will he handle being booed for a change.
People in replies above complained that I mentioned 'hate', but I give you this as just one example. “From Maine to North Carolina, from Ohio to Arizona, here is what we saw”: https://vp.nyt.com/video/2016/07/17/41314_1_offensive-trump_wg_360p.mp4

Fascism is an economic system in which are nominally owned privately but where government makes all the business decisions. Business owners are reduced to being mere factory managers. It's a form of socialism.
What did I learn from this election?
Democrats were stupid running a corrupt, dishonest and incompetent Presidential nominee that has more baggage than Delta Airlines. What were those idiots thinking?

If fascism is an economic system, then that's the distinguishing characteristic. If it's not an economic system, then there's nothing peculiar about it. It's just one many varieties of authoritarian government.
