What constitutes a so-called "mandate" to a new administration?

Mandate has nothing to do with majority. It is either a very specific term such as certain items under the British Constitution or a generic word meaning "legitimate power to form a government". Trumps mandate is given to him by the only body required...the electoral college. His mandate is strengthened by the fact that the Democrats are out of power in the House, Senate and states as well.
The democrats are down and wailing. Lets kick them hard while they are down.

I dont care what pussies he grabbed. I care that he will enforce immigration law, deport illegal aliens and close the border. Return power to the states. Appoint pro life and pro constitution federal judges. Deal with Americas allies as a nation rather than ceding ground to our enemies and our sovereignty to globalists.
The Kenyan is gone soon. And an American takes his place. We have seen the last of the Clintons. That is what matters.

The Tree of Liberty must be watered by the tears of liberals every generation.

Apparently not in simple enough language for you to understand.

Here.....to help those who never made it beyond junior high.....

A mandate reflects the will of the MAJORITY of the citizens....So, who won the majority of the votes???

The majority of the COUNTRY went to Trump.
(States: Trump 28, Hillary 22)
(Electoral: Trump 306, Hillary 232)

Either gives him a mandate

A few cities makes it look like the majority of the people went to Hillary.

(she wins a very partisan Miss Congeniality sash)

Is it that you don't like the Constitution or that you just don't know what it says? The President is elected by the states, not by popular vote, and Trump won twice as many states as Clinton, so he has a clear mandate.

A mandate is usually defined as actions to be taken, authorized by the people who will be impacted by those actions.....

Trump won the election based on electoral college votes....and that is law....But, given the authority voiced by the majority of the people, many of Clinton's policies should then be followed.

So, are Trump's administrative policies based on a "mandate"???
Clinton had no policies except to encourage hate, fear and divisiveness, so there never was an alternative to Trump's policies.
Speaking of policies, has Trump revealed any of his policies yet?

Yeaaaaahhh..... "America's gonna win again, it's gonna be yuuuuuuuge" :cuckoo:
Clearly you need to wait for the children's edition to come out.

That's not available until January 20

Those numbers are wrong. If you were able to count, you would know that.

OK, lets go into teaching mode for the slow-witted,; for Trump to have won TWICE as many states as Clinton, he would have had to win about 34 of them

Did Trump win that many???? (find a grown up to help)

Did you bother counting all those itty bitty blue states on the east coast?

Nearly doubles what Hillary had elsewhere.

and giver her 22 total

I think you have to start with a big majority, not gerrymandered districts.
