Some of my favorites include Bryan Adams opening for Van Halen in 1984, Gary Moore opening for Rush also in 1984, Merle Haggard opening for Bob Dylan in 2006 and Steve Winwood opening for Tom Petty in 2007 or 2008. These are just some that come to mind and I attended all of them in Arizona.

I got press tickets front row for Sea World Wayne Newton concert back in the 70's. They put me directly behind a camera so I couldn't see, so I read a book until Carol Burnett came out. However, Wayne Newton definitely saw me and he didn't like me reading a book during his concert. I was a kid so wtf. I did see him sit on the stairs and crush his balls with that giant belt buckle he was wearing. They cut that off on the tv so it wasn't televised that part.

The Who
Rush
Both in 1982.

Black Sabbath with Ian Gillan on vocals. The stubby Stonehenge tour of lore. That was my first heavy metal concert. The full sized Stonehenge set was too tall for the Toledo sports arena, so they had to cut the legs of the trilithons short. Night Ranger opened.

Another notable one was Jeff Beck and Stevie Ray Vaughn at Cobo Arena in Detroit. I saw SRV in concert 3 times. At the end of Beck's set, the both got on stage and played Goin' Down together for an encore.

Saw the Rolling Stones on the Steel Wheels tour with Living Colour at the old Cleveland Stadium. The Stones are great live.

One of the times I saw Ozzy he sounded like crap and said he had the flu and left after not even an hour. He was probably just shitfaced drunk.

Then the next time he came to town he apologized and played for almost 4 hours.

God this thread just reminds me I have not been to an arena concert since dynamic pricing started. We are supposed to see a small venue Styx show next year, but I forget the date. My wife keeps teasing that she may drag me to Boy George & Culture club as well, We'll see....

The two that stand out are:

Led Zeppelin MSG 1973
Blackmore's Rainbow Beacon Theater 1975

Biggest regret was turning down every single chance to see Frank Zappa

Emerson, Lake, and Palmer
Yes
Jimmy Buffett
Journey
Genesis
Pink Floyd (The Wall)
Rod Stewart
Neil Diamond
KISS
The Eagles
Billy Joel
Bruce Springsteen
Post Modern Jukebox
QUEEN
Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers
Tom Jones
Meatloaf
Asia...

...there are more, and I've enjoyed them all.

I saw Zappa at the University of MN's venue. Some damn good guitar solos and he mocked Prince a couple times. Had a twelve piece band.

Other concerts.
ZZ Top twice
Van Halen twice with Roth
Kansas with Loverboy
Rush
Journey then 39 years later New Journey lol
REO Speedwagon
Bob Segar
+ about a dozen more bands during the '80's.

One notable was Joe Jackson who also had a huge band. That guy is awesome on the piano.

Never saw Zeppelin though.:(

Last Friday night. 100th anniversary show, Grand Ole Opry, Nashville, TN. Had numerous stars from the past 64 years. I am 65 and that show was the soundtrack to my life. From Bill Anderson to Scotty McCreery, the oldest to the youngest of the performers. I used to listen to the Opry on the radio when I was a kid and we were at my grandparent's house in southern KY. I went to my first show back in October.

Show was on Black Friday and there were two shows. The later show started almost an hour late because the parking lot is shared with the Opry Mills Mall. Parking was a challenge but actually moved well. The show ended at about 2 am local time, starting their 101st year.
