Well, I failed to account for the stupidity of the masses

I already did. You lack a connection with reality to identify them or the brainpower to understand any of them.
Thanks poopyhead. Didn't think so. Have a blessed day.

That's core to all this, in my view. Democrats like to isolate fascism and authoritarianism as ideologies that is specifically right wing, and for them it has more to do with the source of authority, rather than its scope and reach. For them, "authoritarian" mean government action driven by a dictator. But they'll give a pass on similar government action if we take a vote first.

Libertarians see abusive, overbearing government as authoritarian regardless of its source.

Democratic authoritarianism often gets a pass because it's primarily focused on social engineering goals. Dictating people's personal activities is ok if it's "for a good cause". Republican authoritarianism is more traditionally fascist and overt - eg rounding up brown people for deportation.
Generally, I agree.

I don't think the vote is necessary for the left though or even a consideration. As you mention, all it needs is for it to be 'for the people.' Anything done under that guise is okay as shown with Biden's housing policy. He directly states it was not constitutional. The SCOTUS said it was not constitutional. He did it anyway and the left cheered him for it. The mostly supported his Orwellian 'department of truth' as well. This is how it has happened in other nations in the past and we are no different.

This has been a core failure of the left for decades IMHO. As even Peterson can point out, we know when the right goes to far. As soon as we start hearing about superiority and isolationism we know the right is falling off the edge. We have no idea when the left goes to far as a culture. I think he pinned it down perfectly though, equity. As soon as the left starts talking equity we are in the authoritarian realm.

It does show me that we have, as a culture, an incredible thirst for an authoritarian government considering both political powers are going that direction.

Sure he did.

Of course, the way it looked to the rest of the world, he talked smack about buying it, tried to get out of the deal, ran it into the ground.

What amazes me is you can look at business failures like Trump and Musk and think they are brilliant.

You clearly don't know what failure means,
Which is surprising.

We'll see the results of the fascism you're currently supporting in a few years.

I was right about the Bush II Administration and my views were unpopular during his regime.

20 plus years later, and everyone is pretending to not be down with Bush II.

The same thing will happen again with Trump.

Watch...

No thanks but you have fun with that.

Shirley indeed.

Speaking of stupidity of the masses, wasn't it nice to see the Ds and Rs set aside their differences and join forces to defeat Ranked Choice Voting across the country?

It was

Whatever. I can use a different word if it makes you feel better. I'm talking about the zeal for absolute government control of society, the primacy of the state in all things, collusion of government and high level business interests, scapegoating "enemies within", cronyism and corruption, etc ...

A lot of libertarians use the word "statism" instead. Would that work better for you?

Statism is good.

President Trump is the exact opposite of that.

It's just that simple.

This county is dumber than I thought it was.

In fact, dumber than I thought possible.

You idiots elected somebody who is planning to crash the economy.

Enjoy your poverty and hatred.

It was women and minorities that pushed Trump over the top.

Now you are calling them stupid?

🤔

No you relied on it and fertilized it with your shit but alas it was an awakening and not ignorance that defeated the beast.

Nope. I'm not the one who just voted for a fascist demagogue who brags he's gonna crash the economy.

That's the epitome of stupidity.
You vote for the fascist demagogues who want to collectivize the economy and destroy Free Enterprise.

Won't happen the next four years, Komrade Kreepass!

You failed to understand and reason why people who voted for Trump in 2016, voted for Biden in 2020 and voted for Trump in 2024.

Aww . What's wrong . Loll. The people have spoken . Advice - don't pick a dumb whore. Oh yeah you didn't pick her ... fools.
Notice that there were no voices praising her as the top candidate to succeed Quid Pro Joe UNTIL she was installed. In fact, she was basically considered assassination insurance.
