I don't know any liberals who cared much what Trump's tax rate is or was, but then again, I don't personally know really stupid people who make claims and demands before they know what they truly know well what they are talking about. I know plenty of them who want to know what are the sources of the revenue flows that accrue to Trump and Trump Organization (TO). TO is a pass-through entity; thus if Trump releases a complete tax return (1040 and the supporting forms), it will disclose not only his personal cash flows but also those of his business entities.

The personal part isn't what Trump wants to keep hidden -- except perhaps for the details of his personal (Schedule A) not business (Schedule C) charitable contributions -- and the mere matter of his "top line" income and effective tax rate isn't what anyone with knowledge of taxes gives a damn about seeing. Forms 1120, 2555, 8938 and 114 and their supporting schedules/documentation have far more interesting information on them.

I'm sure you've hear all sorts of "silly sh*t" about what folks want to see, and perhaps some of it is on the 1040. Be that as it may, those folks don't really know what they are talking about or looking for. They are just curiosity seekers who want to know bits of pointless information.
