I got it! I got it! I got it!

It occurred to me as I was sliding down the road with both hands tightly gripping the steering wheel (ten and two) and fishtailing through stops and starts. The East Coast sucks and the West Coast blows and the rest of us are in the middle looking at 12-15 inches.

Of snow. Cut it out.

I usually describe it as "weather moves from west to east due to the rotation of the earth", but this is more picturesque.

Theoretically, the weather should move from east to west due to the rotation of the earth. The earth rotates to the east, and the atmosphere lags behind it.
