I'm glad the DNC ignored their voters and picked Hillary. Not only did it show how dishonest they are, and how little they care about their own base, they pretty much handed the election to Mr. Trump.

If you ran Sanders black and Latino turnout would be even lower in exchange for a slightly higher millennial vote.

Trump would have also done much better among educated white voters if they were faced with voting for Trump or a lunatic Commie.

In short, you would have had a Reagan landslide with only Vermont and possibly California going blue and your party would already be on its way out.

Your party leaders knew this and chose Hillary to at least have a chance.

You're right that's what the DNC were thinking. But considering how hard it was for Hillary to gain the same sort of loyalty Bernie was able to achieve because Bernie was actually honest and authentic -- and considering he didn't have any stupid email scandals to deal with, they're probably kicking themselves in the ass today for nominating what now seems to be an even higher risk choice.

Sanders was a Socialist that that ran on the Democratic ticket to have a better chance at being elected. If you look about the planet, you will see that when Socialism is the party in power, the nation doesn't do well when you have a large influx of lowly educated migrants sucking off the government's coffers and open borders for migrants was a stand the party had.
Venezuela is a pure Socialist country now and it is floundering and food is hard to get. Capitalism with a modicum of social programs to help the elderly, disabled and children works well enough.

we have all of these illegal immigrants because of republican leaderships, beginning with the Reagan Amnesty then the Bush 1 amnesty, and congress critters wanting cheap labor for the small business association that lobbied them to not give business owners hiring illegals harsh sentences in the immigration bill.
