Unfortunately, veterans in office are almost always funded by the same military-industrial complex that benefits from the forever wars.

We had plenty of wars. Near all in the Western Hemisphere. However, the fiat currency allows external defense nation agreements, quick mobilization and as we saw after a few decades, undeclared police actions. It legitimized permanent war as the owners of the Federal Reserve have centuries of making wars as owners of other fiat currencies.
