Just because it's slightly down doesn't mean it's a safe city. You think like an imbecile.Furthermore, violent crime is down in DC, so this is not necessary.

I know what Trump can do, and I won't be listening to this white house about anything. What I do know is that the emergency Trump has declared is not so. So stop reading that right-wing crap, and that includes the right-wing crap coming from the white house.IM2
"Trump renews threats to take over Washington, D.C., but his legal authority is limited. Here's what he can do"
Like always you are wrong.. Here's what he can actually do.
Washington DC is not a state. Unlike state National Guards, which are typically under a governor’s control unless federalized, the D.C. National Guard is always under the authority of the President.
The President delegates this control to the Secretary of Defense, who can then delegate to other military officials (like the Secretary of the Army).
The Posse Comitatus Act of 1878.. Washington D.C. is not a state, which gives the President more direct control over its law enforcement and National Guard.
Home Rule Act (Section 740): Allows the President to take control of D.C.'s Metropolitan Police Department during emergencies. Donald Trump invoked this provision in 2025 to federalize the D.C. police and deploy National Guard troops, despite objections from local leaders.
Insurrection Act: This federal law allows the President to deploy military forces to suppress insurrection or enforce federal authority. It has been used in past crises, including in D.C. during civil rights protests and riots.
Did Trump need Congressional approval?
No. As Commander-in-Chief, and due to the special federal status of D.C., the President does not need Congressional approval to deploy the D.C. National Guard.
You don't know what you are talking about... stop with the liberal disinformation and propaganda...I know what Trump can do, and I won't be listening to this white house about anything. What I do know is that the emergency Trump has declared is not so. So stop reading that right-wing crap, and that includes the right-wing crap coming from the white house.
IM2 knows a lot about CRAP, because his limited brain is full of it.I know what Trump can do, and I won't be listening to this white house about anything. Those people clearly can't govern themselves.Donald Trump was convicted on 34 counts of crime. Yet he sits in the white house talking about law and order. So now he wants to take over DC because one of his illegitimately employed people got his ass whipped. He would be wise to leave DC alone.
Trump renews threats to take over Washington, D.C., but his legal authority is limited. Here's what he can do
An attempted carjacking that injured a DOGE staff member in Washington, D.C., prompted President Trump to once again push for a federal takeover of the city's government.
"If D.C. doesn't get its act together, and quickly, we will have no choice but to take Federal control of the City," Mr. Trump said in a Truth Social post. "I am going to exert my powers, and FEDERALIZE this City."
The episode reignited Mr. Trump's long-running call to take control of the city, citing violent crime and what he described as incompetent leadership. He made the case in February and July of this year, as well as on the campaign trail.
"We have to run D.C.," Mr. Trump said Wednesday. "This has to be the best run place in the country, not the worst."
However, the president alone does not have the authority to federalize the district. It would require an act of Congress to overturn the 1973 Home Rule Act, which gave D.C. residents the power to elect the council members and mayor who pass and implement their local laws.

After an attempted carjacking involving a government staffer, Trump renewed his push to take federal control of D.C. — but he'd need Congress to make it happen.www.cbsnews.com
He talks about DC being run incompetently, and if that is his logic, he needs to stay out because under his presidency, the federal government is most definitely under incompetent management. But he needs a diversion from Epstein, so he goes after another black female mayor.
Violent crime is down in DC, so this threat is just another part of a disingenuous show by a corrupt pervert President.
Which people? Those people clearly can't govern themselves.
The type you find in DCWhich people?
Progressives had insurrections across many of their cities. When Trump walked across the street from the White House with a bible to the church that was damaged from those insurrections along with the streets in the same way, he knew inside that there are traitors and it is you. You phuks are destroying a good thing that is this nation. We have many problems. Somehow though we have given many people a free pass and real privilege that has helped to propel us into decline.I know what Trump can do, and I won't be listening to this white house about anything. What I do know is that the emergency Trump has declared is not so. So stop reading that right-wing crap, and that includes the right-wing crap coming from the white house.
All DC?The type you find in DC
He doesn't need to take it over....DC had never be and autonomous entity.Donald Trump was convicted on 34 counts of crime. Yet he sits in the white house talking about law and order. So now he wants to take over DC because one of his illegitimately employed people got his ass whipped. He would be wise to leave DC alone.

Bill Clinton?Until it happened last year the idea that a convicted criminal who should be behind bars, who has been credibly accused of sexually abusing 26 women, could possibly be elected POTUS is completely antithetical to the American experience.
He MAY have committed ONE misdemeanor. At least his accountant s did. What they did was essentially take a jaywalking charge and charge Trump for a separate felony for each of the thirty four steps it took to cross the street. No one else would have even been charged.
Because the judge blocked all their attempts to call expert witnesses to show the charges were groundless. Then why weren't his lawyers able to make an easy slam dunk argument for an acquittal of their client? How can Trump's lawyers allow him to be convicted on 34 separate charges, all of which you claim are completely bogus? Unless......Trump is simply guilty of all of them. That would be the most rational conclusion, but Maga isn't rational.
Yeah like it is DC's fault that he so popularDonald Trump was convicted on 34 counts of crime. Yet he sits in the white house talking about law and order. So now he wants to take over DC because one of his illegitimately employed people got his ass whipped. He would be wise to leave DC alone.
