You are correct. But also missing some important points.

One of the main theme's of Atlas was a strike. A sort of reverse strike by the people with working minds which ultimately caused civilization to collapse.

Well that is not happening. But something else is. There is no organization or union and it is not people with brilliant minds. But there is a growing strike. Many people suspect that this strike is what is ultimately causing the bad economy we are all living through.

It started with a large and growing number of men refusing to get married or live with a woman or have kids. Some say it is incels others MGTOW others say they are one and the same ( not really ). But this refusal to have traditional relationships slows down the economy. This is because men make, earn and have most of the money but women spend most of it.This is what happens with marriage. The wife takes the man's money and pumps it back into the consumer economy, especially when they have kids.

When men refuse to have wives or kids their money does not get spent.

Then came COVID, lockdowns, destroyed businesses lay offs and endless amounts of relief from state local and federal government. As a result many more men have decided to live cheap and frugal on government handouts and to not bother with a full time job.


Throw in viscious attacks on men such as the lie of tosic masculinity and endless male bashing and men are simply quitting. Why bother taking part? Just let the world burn.

Not exactly the strike Rand envisioned but it is having a similar effect.

Farmers, security guards, clothing manufacturers, builders, all get a piece of the government tit, and the Marxists/Democrats who called black men "Super Predators" smiled.
