Rational, logical, educated people prefer to make policy based on research rather than immature idealism. The facts are absolutely indisputable here.
The Crime Prevention Research Center found that from the 1950s through July 10, 2016, 98.4% of mass shootings have happened in gun-free zones
We’ve done it the failed left-wing way for almost 3 decades now. It’s time we accept the research, statistics, and facts and start listening to the experts. When you create victim zones, you will get victims. The left has caused the unnecessary death of hundreds of children. This is an easy problem to solve that doesn’t require tyranny or the shredding of the U.S. Constitution. It just requires us to do what all successful solutions do - ignore the left and accept the data.

UPDATED: More misleading information from Bloomberg's Everytown for Gun Safety on guns: "Analysis of Recent Mass Shootings," Showing how mass public shootings keep occurring in gun-free zones - Crime Prevention Research Center

It is shocking that more mass shootings don’t take place at gun shows or NRA meetings. I mean with all the guns at those places you’d think they would top the list is shootings. It just makes sense, lots of guns, lots of shootings. Right?

Didn’t parkland have an armed marshal? So that wasn’t gun free. How about vegas? Is the strip gun free? Casinos? No cops or security around there?

Didn’t parkland have an armed marshal?
He was outside of the school and refused to go in. So no, Parkland did not have an “armed marshal”.
Really? Sorry man but Parkland did have an armed Marshal and yes he chickened out and did not go face the shooter, which is likely the same outcome that a number of other marshals would have done when faced with a life/death situation. Not everybody is brave when faced with danger. It’s a shame but it’s the truth. But don’t pretend like parkland was a soft target. They had a Marshal there who had a gun.

Again...they did NOT have an "armed" marshal. If there isn't a person INSIDE the building with a firearm, then it doesn't matter. This is as absurd as saying that Columbine had an "armed" marshal because their police department has firearms. If there isn't someone IN the building armed, then there isn't anyone armed.

He was a school resource officer for over 25 years, stationed ON CAMPUS. He went to building 12 where the shooter was and didn’t go in. What more do you want? An armed guard in every classroom? In every building of every school? Come on man. The school had an armed officer. It didn’t detract or prevent the shooting. I’m all for school safety but let’s be honest and realistic when talking about this situation.

Uh...how about someone inside when the shooter is inside?!? Listening to you claim that him hiding outside of “building 12” as if that’s even remotely the same thing as being inside and engaging the shooter is absurd.

What’s absurd is thinking we Should have an armed guard in every building of every school. Its also just false that there wasn’t an armed guard at that school. He was there. It didn’t prevent the shooting from happening

If the school guard had been inside the building does that mean the guard would have to engage the shooter?

Guess what? The Los Angeles P.D. was also outside of the Parkland building. Do you understand how absurd you sound now or do you need more examples?

What is absurd is thinking we shouldn’t. Change is hard. You “progressives” will get used to it (just like you people eventually got used to black people being free and equal).

Was the LAPD on campus and tasked with guarding the school. What kind of point are you trying to make bringing up the LAPD?

Change is fine, I’m hoping for change. What exactly are you proposing?

Get your terms straight, he was a deputy sheriff.

Coral Gables PD wasn't, but they went in as soon as they arrived, while the Broward county sheriffs were directing traffic.

One cowardly lion in uniform on a 45 acre campus isn't enough.

What do you suggest?

Train willing teachers and allow them to carry, do you think that puke in FL would have stuck his head through the window in a locked classroom door if someone inside the room was shooting back? Had the coach that died been armed he showed the courage to confront the shooter and tried to protect his students, but had nothing to fight with. Pay willing teachers that qualify a tax free stipend.
