Political parties cannot say who can and can not register as a member of those parties so of course there will be the coincidental and rare wacko that the party would never have chosen to be among its ranks.

But overall, it is not the Republicans are tearing down historical statues, monuments, symbols. It is not Republicans pushing values that are corrupt and evil. Republicans are not denigrating people who openly express their Christian or any other religious faith. They do openly criticize those who express hate, bigotry, prejudice in the name of their relgious and/or sociopolitical beliefs and or those who use their religion for unreasonable demands or to justify violence.

Overall it is not the Republicans who are rioting, blocking sidewalks/accesses to businesses, streets, roads, highways, bridges. It is not the Republicans who are committing vandalism, arson, assault, battery, general destruction.

And it is not Republicans shutting down the government and hurting countless people because they demand that we spend an irresponsible 1.5 trillion dollars that we don't have.

And yes, the overall behavior of that Star Wars bar scene does pretty accurately depict what the Democrats have become.

Despite putting in some safeguards against men with motives antithetical to the patriotic impulses of the day, I would argue it was not the Founders fault for not contemplating a force as inherently evil as trumpery.
