Are we still a nation of laws after what the Supreme Court ruled today? Or do we stop being a nation of laws the moment SCOTUS rulings don't go the way you want them to? Serious question(s) nat.
No, NO......I fully admit that the SCOTUS has upheld the Muslim ban of the orange clown's executive order.......
bear in mind TWO things (if your brain can manage 2 things at a time)
1. They upheld an EO, NOT a law (you need congress to pass legislation)...and
2. Look up the Scott v. Sanford that the SCOTUS upheld and then had to revert that ruling because it WAS clearly racist......
They said the EO was within the law and the powers of the president. The stay was mostly reversed 9-0 and 3 judges said it should have been totally reversed. The Scott case dealt with internal matters, this is foreign policy, an area the courts have no jurisdiction. I said from the beginning it would be reversed 9-0 and it will be when the case is fully heard.
