Are we still a nation of laws after what the Supreme Court ruled today? Or do we stop being a nation of laws the moment SCOTUS rulings don't go the way you want them to? Serious question(s) nat.

No, NO......I fully admit that the SCOTUS has upheld the Muslim ban of the orange clown's executive order.......

bear in mind TWO things (if your brain can manage 2 things at a time)

1. They upheld an EO, NOT a law (you need congress to pass legislation)...and

2. Look up the Scott v. Sanford that the SCOTUS upheld and then had to revert that ruling because it WAS clearly racist......

They said the EO was within the law and the powers of the president. The stay was mostly reversed 9-0 and 3 judges said it should have been totally reversed. The Scott case dealt with internal matters, this is foreign policy, an area the courts have no jurisdiction. I said from the beginning it would be reversed 9-0 and it will be when the case is fully heard.

Missed most of this. Under the Constitution the order goes to a higher court. Way it was meant to be. I'm assuming this is the Travel Ban Executive Order.

We will see what the higher courts have to say. Only then can the Gnat Crow.

In regards to WE ARE NATION OF LAWS. Coming from a side that CHEERED the LAWLESSNESS of the Issues of Immigration. Cheering for VIOLATORS of the Law and those who created Sanctuary Cities openly stating they will not follow the laws in this country.

In a nation of LAWS you shouldn't be able to pick and choose which ones you will obey. That's not how it's supposed to work.

A city is not required by any law to enforce a federal law, Eagle, and that is such a basic 8th grade Civics principle, that it reinforces why you and Trump do not need to be in any position in which you would have the authority to interpret law.

The number of American cities and localities now identifying as “Sanctuaries” for illegal immigrants to ignore the laws of our nation has risen frighteningly high in recent days. The Washington Times reports that almost 500 cities now support “sanctuary city” policies and protect these criminals from justice. Over the last few years the number has steadily risen but with the election of President Trump some observers wondered if the number would accelerate as liberals hypocritically chose to stand against the immigration laws that they ignored during the Obama years, or if the number of cities would shrink for worry that they’d be stripped of federal dollars.

Oh, well, if an obscure right wing blog, named "The Patriot", says so, if must be true.

Never the less, I am with my county sheriff department, and I not only do not have the authority to arrest and detain a suspect for breaking a federal lay, I would be reprimanded, or even fired for doing so, unless the suspect was also breaking a county ordinance.
