Way To Go Hamas

The Israelis have proven they want a permanent lasting peace. They signed an agreement with Egypt in 1979 and both sides have been at peace since.

But the Arabs in Egypt agreed to fully recognize the State of Israel and it's right to exist.

Now can anyone explain why Hamas only chooses war?

And they keep building settlements and allowing illegal settlements to stay....what steps towards a permenent solution has Isreal taken since Bibi's been in office?

So much for "proving" they want permanent lasting peace. The impression I have is they just want to support the status quo and quietly continue to gobble up the land until a two state solution is utterly impossible and the Palestinians are reduced to a permanent semi-autonomous region under military rule.

There are some settlements the Israeli courts say have to be evacuated. IDF have gone in and removed settlers and trailer houses and removed equipment.
If PA declare statehood, with or without UN agreement, Israel will annex land under it's control.
Hamas is against the PA draft taken to the UN. UK, India and other are against the modified draft the PA wants to present. If not denied it is likely to be vetoed.
The only real chance for statehood is a negotiated peace agreement that ensures Israel security. A country that narrow cannot give up the high ground to an enemy that has for the better part of a century called for the genocide of the jews.

That doesn't seem accurate....

For example, here is a list of UN Security Council Resolutions, many of which are condemnations (multiple ones for Syria, Sudan, Libya, Western Sahara, Somalia, the Taliban, Al Quada) - none for Israel in 2014...multiple ones for DR Congo...

There is the UN Human Rights Watch Documents and Resolutions ...and if you look through the regular sessions and special sessions there are condemnations in various reports (multiple times) for Syria, Iran, specifically and many of the above listed countries in reports on more generalized topics. Among the special sessions for 2014 there is one on Iraq/Syria/ISIS, one on the recent Gaza conflict and one on CAR (Central African Republic).

Is the UN biased on Israel? Based on this clearly erroneous and misleading claim - I'd say there is insufficient data, but the post itself is certainly biased and deceptive.

It is Jewish land....won it battle with much blood and treasure after the Arabs chose war.

Again....after losing time and time again you'd think the Arabs would realize wars and their unending hatred toward Jews have consequences.

They truly never seem to learn. :(

It's land that belongs to all of those people and they have to learn to share it. The settlements are wrong.

Yes - but very few. Many are allowed to stay long enough to become established and legitimized. Look at the inequity: how many illegal Arab expansions are destroyed? how many Jewish ones? And, how often is Palestinian violence rewarded by new settlement building?

Netyanahu has done nothing - nothing concrete towards peace. I think frankly, in his mind - he has more to gain by doing nothing.

It's not good for any peace effort to prevent people from learning about each other's culture and realizing that "the other" might not be that different and kids are the most impressionable, most open minded - because they haven't yet learned otherwise.

It's sad that Hamas is doing that.
Perhaps Israel should make an exchange.

Gaza kids can go to Israel.

Israeli kids can go to Gaza.

What kind of mother will let her child go into Gaza?

I know I wouldn't.
Well then, let the parents go too.

Southern Israelis in Gaza?

LOL

Except that it's true. The UN was relevant last century, maybe.

Today it became a joke.

So would this mean that palestinian homes built in Isreal are also illegal settlements ?

Except, it isn't true - or at least as that post is claiming. It's the Israeli equivalent of Paliwood.

That depends on Israeli law. Israel is not Occupied Territory. If they are illegal - Israel usually demolishes them.

To add, they have a peace agreement with Jordan as well. Egypt and Jordan were two of the countries that were on the attack in 1948 and wanted Israel wiped off the face of the earth.

UN rejected the PA bid.

Yes they did. I can not find the article I read earlier today, but the PA bid was made intentionally to fail in the UN SC for Abbas to gain traction at home with the Pali's and against Hamas.

From the same article, it was said that the PA bid was changed from what the EU and other members agreed to, pushed to go today so that it would fail; before some of the members of the SC changed (by Thursday) and the US would have had to force it's hand to veto it. It also said that the PA cannot afford (yes $$$) a US veto.

Historical data shows that you are wrong, and are relying on islamonazi propaganda for you information. Exactlt what have the palestinians done in the last 66 years to show they are prepared to talk peace and mutual borders. Every peace talks they throw the same pre conditions on the table and refuse to budge from that starting point, is it any wonder that Israel is just refusing to meet with them now

Israel has consistently demanded it's own pre-conditions and refused to budge. We've been down this road before.

PA blames Nigeria and other for abstaining and now is trying to join the ICC. Neither Israel nor the US are signators so what ever the PA tries at the ICC it won't really have much affect beside ink in the papers. ICC can't impose anything on those if hamas and the PA for a unity government they can be tried for a number of crimes. The ICC is a double edged sword that is likely to do more harm than good for the PA.

PA realy should have tried to work for a negotiated settlement, they would have gotten more. Now they might loose everything including the good will of their arab neighbors and their deep pockets.

ICC has not ability to impose anything on Israel, at most it might make it more difficult for Israeli officials to travel. On the other hand if ICC approves the PA's application in the next 60 days it could also mean that any Palestinian who commits a war crime anywhere in the world and has not been tried by a Palestinian court could also be subject to the jurisdiction of the ICC.
With the UN rejection the ICC could also reject the PA application. Either way the move might do more harm to palestinians that benefit them in any attempt to take action against Israel or Israelis.

None that are illegal or destined to bring a halt to the talks.
