What spending I object to is what the federal government is spending. If I want certain things, I'll ask my state to make them happen. If you do stuff at the federal level, the opportunity for graft and corruption only goes up. The federal government currently consumes 23% of GDP projected to go to 25%. That is one quarter of the entire country's output.

I figure the Republicans will play it realistically by the numbers. At 8:30 tomorrow morning the monthly employment report will be published for April. The consumer price index will follow in a couple of weeks. As these and future economic reports come out month-after-month, politicians in power will need to pay heed. Positive reports will allow Republicans to stay the course. Crappy economic reports put their jobs at risk and being booted off the government's gravy train.
