Wasn't The Point of Tariffs to Make Companies Open Factories Here?

Really? Who?

China is opening factories here?

Thanks for the chuckle.
/----/ Actually, we're chuckling at you -- too lazy to do a quick search before embarrassing yourself here. Admit it, your entire focus is ORANGE MAN BAD and nothing more.
For weeks, Ryan Zhou has been running on little sleep. The 38-year-old entrepreneur from eastern China has been pulling 14-hour shifts, trying to open his company's first factory in Dallas before the summer heat rolls in.

It’s a race against time — and tariffs.

Zhou’s business, which makes custom-printed mugs and T-shirts, once thrived by shipping thousands of small parcels to the US every day. But everything changed after US President Donald Trump ramped up tariffs on Chinese imports, slapping a 145 per cent duty on a vast range of goods. Beijing hit back with 125 per cent tariffs of its own.

Wow...really?

LOL...

/----/ He's negotiating to have them open factories here, and they are.

They are NOT opening factories as a result of his tariffs. They're CLOSING them.

80% of Americans don't want to work in factories. There are already thousands of open jobs in factories that the companies can't fill and increasing the demand for workers you don't have, isn't going to work for you either.

/---/ I prove candycorn wrong, and instead of admitting it, he just marks my post with a Funny meme. It shows his lack of substance.

Did you even read the link you posted? There were more holes in the story than in a wheel of Swiss cheese. The story made no logical sense whatsoever. They're opening plants, but they don't have supply lines set up and lots of materials aren't available.

Sure. That's the ticket. That's how businesses work when going into a new country where they don't know anything.

You posted a link to a right wing rag from INDIA, with a dodgy fact check record. Hardly proving any wrong, and certainly no enabling you to claim any sort of victory. I seriously doubt that the Business Standard has reporters on the ground in Texas to provide input on anything.
  • Overall, we rate Business Standard Right-Center Biased based on reporting and story selection that favors the right-leaning ruling party. We also rate them Mostly Factual in reporting rather than High due to a lack of transparency with shareholders and poor sourcing techniques.

might wanna check the timeline on tariffs and your link.

Biden used precision tariffs on specific products, not a general tariff on everything the USA imports, including food you don't grow, and supplies and ingredients you have no means for producing.

Trump is too lazy to do targetted tariffs, or to make an entire policy or a plan.
Omg, you're not worth the time and effort. simply put, Orange Man Bad in your book. No wonder the American Left is world known as the clown show.
