Was the Purim Attack on Amalek in Iran all Kabuki Theater?
Though Iran is not a nuclear nation it has China and Russia as 2 very power allies who are. Iran is a critical ally to China and Russia and one they were likely willing to fight for.
My reading of the tea leaves it that this attack was all carefully choreographed.
Trump made a big show of force, stealth aircraft, Aircraft carriers, refueling planes, all very scary. China, and likely Russia, had everything tracked and targeted the whole time. They even sent pictures showing quite clearly the knew the location of every US asset in the region. I think there was a lot of back channel discussions between DC, Beijing and Moscow on how badly a real attack would have ended for US forces on the region.
So an agreement was made: make it look like a few missiles get through on both sides, Khamenei is as dead as Jeffrey Epstein. Change in leadership, approved by Xi and Putin, every takes a victory lap.
