Was the Afghanistan Tragedy Avoidable?

Trump didn't talk to the Afghani government or ,military.. He was negotiating with the Taliban.

China has been successful in Afghanistan for over a decade.. Port Gwadar and its railroad hub is long finished and now there's market access for Afghani resources to get to markets in Asia.
What an absurd claim. What world do you live in? :cuckoo:

Biden’s rush to withdraw American troops gave the Taliban absolutely no incentive to negotiate.
And the gaslighting attempts start. In Trumpland, Trump's unconditional surrender agreement, the one that most of them praised, was actually done by Biden!

Now, I don't blame Trump for negotiating a withdrawl. I blame him for just surrendering. He gave the Taliban everything, and got nothing in return. That's typical of his "negotiating."

Anyways, I hope we can all agree to primarily blame George W. Bush, and that the antiwar liberals of the Bush era were right, and especially that our nutty pro-war conservative MSM was totally wrong to push warwarwarwarwar.

With the Afghan government and military being filled with cowards and collaborators this was always going to happen. Just about everyone is astonished by how useless they turned out to be. They were ones who were supposed to make the pullout work but they ran away like pussies. Blame them. Our "friends" abandoned us and betrayed their own countrymen.
Correct.

The Afghan government and military were doing nothing to become self-sufficient – as a consequence American support was no longer warranted.

Comment:
Not to be left out, the Quisling Media has a big hand in this Afghanistan tragedy. They pimped the s.o.b. Joey Xi Bai Dung, now look at what we have. Joey has made the aspirations of both China and Russia now real.
China and Russia plans can now go fully into motion.

How many?

To where?
To the US dummy. I would imagine its thousands of people because, its them AND their families. We already approved them to come here. Why werent they evacuated 2 months ago?

Avoidable?

Nope
It was completely avoidable that treasonous Bribe taking human rights abusing Biden and his corrupt administration and puppet masters all should be held criminally for their actions.

We need to get out of Afghanistan, shut up and leave them alone.

They are going to be fine. They have a huge opportunity for economic success which will change everything for the Afghan people.

Oh shut up. We fucked up when Bush went back into Afghanistan in 2001.

Are you crazy? They are taking child sex slaves as we speak. Fuck you man.

Biden’s rush to withdraw American troops gave the Taliban absolutely no incentive to negotiate.

There hasn't been need for the Taliban to negotiate since February 2020 when it and the U.S. signed agreement for us to leave. The Taliban agreed to provide safe passage for the international military force. Afghans themselves weren't promised squat, their government was left to negotiate with the Taliban for themselves. Both Trump and Biden dragged their heels. Trump had 11 months to get us the heck out and Biden's should have been executing his troop removal "decision" immediately upon taking office.

American arrogance and stupidity, and an understandable desire for “action” and revenge for 9/11, was there from the start.

The Bush/Cheney Administration, before it turned its efforts to invading Iraq, made a “non-negotiable” demand that the Taliban violate its own “hospitality” traditions. Bin Laden and his network had helped both the Taliban (and the U.S.) in the past. Bush demanded the Taliban immediately and unconditionally turn over Bin Laden and his group, but refused to provide any evidence of OBL’s guilt whatever. The Taliban itself had never been responsible for a single act of terror in the U.S.A. It had itself denounced the 9/11 attack.

See the 2001 Guardian article below:

Bush rejects Taliban offer to hand Bin Laden over

President George Bush rejected as "non-negotiable" an offer by the Taliban to discuss turning over Osama bin Laden if the United States ended the bombing in Afghanistan.

Returning to the White House after a weekend at Camp David, the president said the bombing would not stop, unless the ruling Taliban "turn [bin Laden] over, turn his cohorts over, turn any hostages they hold over." He added, "There's no need to discuss innocence or guilt. We know he's guilty". In Jalalabad, deputy prime minister Haji Abdul Kabir - the third most powerful figure in the ruling Taliban regime - told reporters that the Taliban would require evidence that Bin Laden was behind the September 11 terrorist attacks in the US, but added: "we would be ready to hand him over to a third country".

P.S. The subsequent error to stay and “nation build” in Afghanistan after Bin Laden escaped capture there was as foolish as invading and occupying Iraq. All subsequent electable politicians and appointed generals have also proven shortsighted and self-interested, trapped in our strange American ideology of undertaking “wars of choice” overseas, while loudly proclaiming our own moral superiority.

Julian Assange speaking in 2011: "The goal is to use Afghanistan to wash money out of the tax bases of the US and Europe through Afghanistan and back into the hands of a transnational security elite. The goal is an endless war, not a successful war"

Biden could not have been more efficient if he had actually been "colluding" with the Taliban. There is that word "colluding" again.
