A lot of Blacks, liberals, Black Republicans and libertarians say that the 1994 Clinton-Biden crime bill was racist and mean-spirited towards Black people, that it made Black people go to jail for long sentences..

Some say that it lowered the crime rate nationally since, and that it saved young blacks and Latinos from criminal acts....

It may have reduced crime back in the day. Seems most Dems are not interested in following laws these days.

It was a horrible Bill. No thought from those who are supposed to have a clue.

Some guy went to prison for life for stealing on three different occasions, what probably amounted to a total of $100 worth of items. One of the thefts was apparently not even intentional if I remember correctly.

What a disaster for the lives of citizens who never get a chance to redeem themselves and immense costs to the taxpayer, for what?

Judges need some discretion. They do the job for decades to understand and sift through the B.S and the facts.

Yes, there are some really bad decisions such as allowing clear cut murderers out on bail without any costs, but, do some research on some of the people life for three minors crimes.

If Trump really wanted to earn his wings, he should pardon some of the most egregious sentences. Also, he should be who he was 30 years ago when he was in the Reform and decriminalize weed, it's a blight on society.

I hate bullies and cowards. I know bullies and cowards when I interact with them and Trump must not become mindless and follow the impulses of the worst people who have the IQ of a turnip. Trump is smarter than that, but he is sometimes influenced.

Passed by a democrat majority and sighed by Bill Clinton? Democrats owned the media since FDR. There was no internet at the time so most Americans had to rely on propaganda generated by the media that was slanted to keep the Clinton administration from being criticized. I ain't got a clue about the law and neither do most Americans.

We did not need a crime bill to fight crime. Bills like this is just bullshot to pass the time and so that they can say they did something to fight crime when they are on the election campaigns

It's far worse than that. It inflates massive costs to the taxpayer and appeasing your prison complex. Horrible Bill, something a Neanderthal would support.

Most people never read the bill. I dont see anyone in this thread interested in reading the bill

Bad, because it banned the sale of "armor piercing" "pistol ammunition." F-troop promptly started declaring RIFLE ammunition illegal-in "pistol" calibers like .308, 7.62x39, and .600 Nitro Express.
