One bomb at the right moment over the Kremlin and the fragile structure of Stalin's dictatorship would have collapsed entirely. It would be easy to elaborate some story about Russia's intentions and secret information. Anyway, it would be a fait accompli and the world would live with it, having no choice. Democracies in Eastern Europe and all their productivity all through the 40's, 50's and 60's, plus a Europe free of American bases and nuclear threats. It would have been far more humaine than what happened.

You can't admit the U.S. actually headed off a coup, can you? The U.S. always has to be the bad guy in all narratives. It's a prerequisite for a whole agenda of lies and half-truths. One tactic is to entirely avoid bringing up the fact that the Soviets invaded Iran and held half the country; most people would never know this fact if they went by the left wing anti-Western narratives.
