This is a discussion thread, not a "Trump should pardon Chauvin" thread. Do you think that Officer Chauvin received fair treatment in the George Floyd trials? Do you believe that two 20+ year sentences is punishment that fits the crime? Or do believe that the trials were another example of "law fare" by the Democrats? I believe the sentences are far too extreme given the facts of the case. I believe he deserves another trial given the conflicting autopsy reports, and the enormous media coverage and subsequent riots that ensued. What do you think?

Make no mistake.....He was sacrificed on the alter of diversity.

In his case a commutation of sentence would be appropriate, but he should never be allowed to be a cop again.

Hell, thinking on it, he's no worse than those "Gypsie 4-star" chiefs that get in trouble/fired in a blue city then another blue city up and hires them.

No.... it was an emotionally based conviction...

I have no pity on the living, at their choices.

That is rather opaque and evasive.
I suspect, the impact of his actions, did not come home to him, until found guilty and sentenced. Maybe he should have just handcuffed the guy, put him in the car (whether he wanted to be or not) like a normal arrest, and not kneeled on him, until dead, while people on the sidewalk asked him not to kill that man.

That was tried, to an extent that Floyd made that impossible...You obviously didn't see, or have flat out ignored, the numerous body cam videos of the event.

Worse....It was a straight-up railroad job.

The worse thing he's guilty of is negligence, in not getting EMS on the scene with Narcan ASAP.

BS. There were 3 or 4 cops. He could have been handcuffed wrist and ankles, linked together and hauled into the back seat, like a gift wrapped package and unloaded alive at the police station. But, No. He sure showed him, who was boss. So, he got sentenced. Big deal.

Floyd died of a drug overdose.

Good luck with the appeal. Probably would not have died at all, without being held down and kneeled on, unnecessarily.

He would have died even if he wasn't held down.

BS nothing....I've seen all the videos...He's was taller than the vehicle that the police were trying to put him in was wide, to the point that they couldn't close the doors...Floyd resisted to the point that taking him to the ground and waiting for a paddy wagon was all that was left as an option.

After that, he died of a drug OD, not anything Chauvin did.

To repeat: You are a truly stupid individual.

You still haven't answered the thread question. The knee on neck constraint was officially sanctioned by the Minneapolis Police Dept. at the time of incident. Floyd did not die of asphyxiation.

You could not convince the jury, so it is unlikely you will convince me. Hopefully you are bright enough to stay out of trouble, or at least bright enough to comply with the cops, that might not give a crap if you live or die.

Gee, is it sanctioned as OK, now? It is wreckless, by anyone with a clue.
