yes I have----he is not the only SUNNI I have known---------I is old------more than five decades-----by the time I was two decades I knew both a few Shiites and a ---even more sunnis--------very well -----without ever leaving the USA. One sunni I knew later on-------while still an active professional ------was a USA convert
