To bookend this thread, and put an end to Skylar's argument, here is Twitter commenting on the Ugandan election in which the Ugandan government is acting to shut down social media platforms. It calls for, get this "open internet".

I cannot honestly dispute that Facebook, Twitter, et al are free to ban anyone they want. However when a voice can be silenced by collusion between two major internet providers then the question of whether there is restraint of trade ripe for action? As it was for The Bell System. The breakup that had liberals dancing naked in the streets at the time......
