Zone1 Wake-up call: This is what happens when Christians are afraid to offend

That wasn't a call for violence or anything of the sort. Jesus was saying that not everyone will accept his words and that will bring about conflict.
How ignorant. Matthew 10:34 absolutely is about violence.

Have you read Matthew 10? Jesus sent his disciples out among the wolves, i.e., Israel, where his name would divide families, even to the death.

A new Pew study suggests the steep decline in Christianity is finally “leveling off,” as if that’s a cause for celebration. It’s not. The damage is done. Entire generations have grown up with no real catechesis, no spiritual formation, and no sense of the sacred.

But make no mistake: This isn’t happening because the church refused to modernize. It’s happening because it did.

For decades, the great institutions of Western Christianity traded clarity for relevance and truth for tone. Sermons stopped warning and started pandering. The word “sin” was quietly retired, considered too sharp for modern ears. In its place came talk of “journeys,” “growth,” and whatever else kept the collection plate full. The church, once feared by tyrants and hated by the powerful, rebranded itself as a wellness center with great art.

The cross became a prop. The sacraments became optional. The faith became a product: Clean, inoffensive, entirely forgettable.

I see this all the time. Entire churches will not even discuss the Leftist gender cult, for example, as they bury their heads in the sand pretending that the world going on around them does not really exist because they are too scared to take a stand one way or the other.
I think it is not that Christians are afraid that their faith with offend. i think it is 'woke' idiots, under the banner of Christianity, who are offended by what real Christians believe, teach, express.

Example--not a new topic please--A real Christian can understand that every now and then, an abortion is necessary and ethical. But he/she is not offended by other real Christians who think all abortion is sin.

The 'woke' people are offended by any argument for any restrictions on abortion and accuse the real Christian of being a rightwing nutjob or religious fanatic because he/she believes in the sanctity of life..

Example: The real Christian can know this country was founded by Christians based on Christian principles and values and the Founders believed the Constitution would work only with a mostly moral and religious people.

The 'woke' people are part of the movement to destroy our faith, our culture, our traditions, our values that made this the greatest country on Earth. Some weak Christians may hate that but succumb to the pressures to accept it as the new normal.

THAT is why faith is struggling in America now. But I see another great revival in our future that will right the ship if we will continue to elect people who love America and want to make it great again and keep out those who want to tear down everything that is good and destroy it.

If the peace of Christ is not brought to others, how can we say we are followers of Christ?
Following Christ will offend the world.
Only ONE apostle wasn't brutally murdered for preaching the gospel
"Peace" is with God not the world

Note the change from 'following' to 'preaching'. The Apostles who became martyrs did not lose their peace.

Jesus' prayer that his followers would all remain one comes to mind. As long as we are divided among ourselves, the world laughs--or at least smirks. Should we ever become one again, 'worldly' people would sit up and take serious notice. We would see a great chasm between the worldly and those who practiced true Christianity and were one in Christ. We all need to take notice of what happened to the Israelites once they began allowing worldly practices into their tribes. Can anyone honestly say that today Christianity is living apart from the world?

Christ gave his peace to his followers. Christians need to differentiate when they are living as a people set apart, and when they are welcoming the world into their lives--because I think we all do it--or close our eyes to it--to some extent, in some ways to a great extent.

Is THAT why?
I need to agree with the Catholic Church

Why is "compromise always toward evil?

You hold the very liberal christian spirit. I see it in every post

Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. And a person's enemies will be those of his own household.

That's one biblical verse. Now list all the ones about peace.

What crime did Stephen commit that he was murdered? Yet he had peace -- not with the world but with God

“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
do you have tribulation Meriweather

Try to understand my point. Christ gave us his peace, the peace he gave to his Apostles is now our peace to give to others. Did the Apostles go out swinging swords or creating division among themselves?

I wasn't talking about the tribulations the world brings into every life. I am talking about bringing the peace of the Lord into the lives of those we touch. Perhaps look at it this way: Do you bring peace into the lives you touch? Or, is it everywhere you go, you find the people you meet wanting to take a swing at you or invite you to leave?

Do you know where I bring division here? Every time I insist that--when there is an interest--religion (any/all denomination(s) that have enough students interested) should be an elective at the middle school and high school level.

and if a woman lieth with a woman, what then?
The law is the same for women.

Romans 1:24-32
24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
