Waitress flips out and flips table after getting lousy tip

There's no tipping in Japan for example, and the service is incomparably better. Tipping or paying the staff better works out to about the same expense to the customer without going through the little act that the customer is some archduke the staff has to beg for alms (or worse, shakedown before he's allowed to leave). It's stupid.

Tipping is stupid. Pay the staff what they are worth and raise prices accordingly.

I even tip folks like the plumber when he comes to fix the water heater, and I am pretty sure he is getting paid enough. I would tip the wait staff regardless of what you may think about it.

Of course, I once found an expired uncashed paycheck (for a little over $46) from my years bartending, because I was making way more in my tip jar than most folks were making at their regular jobs. I still tip more than most folks do, because I know how it is appreciated, what it means to the person being tipped, and not even the money but the, "thanks, excellent job, and I appreciate it".

Then I got a real job for less pay but better hours and long-term career opportunities. I think that is way we were supposed to do it, but whatever.

It’s like all those stupid-ass stories about customers leaving messages on receipts for waitresses or leaving “surprise” $10k tips.

Nothing but clickbait for old people and rubes

Customers are fighting for their lives and more and more is demanded in tips

If one customer stiffs you……what did you make in tips for the day?
How much for the week?

If you don’t make enough…seek other employment
They could go get another ******* job.

They could go get another ******* job.
If they rely on tips and customers can no longer to pay massive tips…..they may need to find another profession

The rationale of stay home if you can’t afford to pay my massive tips will be their doom .

I know a lot of waitresses (particularly younger, cute, flirty ones) who would much prefer to stay on the $3/hr plus tips system over switching to $15/hr or even $20/hr no-tip system

In fact, I bet a lot of serve staff feel that way

I'm betting she didn't even deserve the $5. About a year ago we had a graduation party at a restaurant and the service was absolutely horrible. I mean I can't even think of the words to describe it sufficiently. Several waited on our party and a male wait person was just a really scuzzy unclean teenagar who kept on putting his hands in his mouth and then bringing us our orders.

On top of that, we had to go to an ATM machine to get cash because their credit card system was down. But, the service itself was abominable, I mean really abominable. I think the bill came out to be several cents less than $150 and I counted out $150 and left it at the table. The few cents extra I left over the bill total was too much for the service we had. They should have actually comped us the entire meal but we just wanted to get the hell out of there.
Did you alert the people in charge about how bad the wait staff was? Let them know that if they want people like you to return again at some point, and when I say, "people like you", I am referring to how much business/money you gave them right then, they need to fire whoever you and your company were stuck with.

God bless you always!!!

Holly

Good waitstaff doesn't want the pay cut.

Yes, especially the good ones.

Closed. This is a fake story. There is no legitimate source for this other than a handful of social media reports and a fake mugshot. There is no Lakeside Grill anywhere in northeast Ohio.
