So, why all the complaining?

In 2021, Dems controlled Congress and the Executive Branch was run by a committee of socialists and wokesters operating a teleprompter and an autopen. Why didn't the end the horrible "tax cuts for the rich?"
Tax cuts generally means new taxes on the horizon to the D.istrict of C.orruption cronies.

Especially since Biden campaigned on it. He knew those rich donors give to both parties equally, and wouldn't take the chance.

That's right!

The status quo was maintained...The football wasn't moved one fucking inch!

Now act like you scored the winning touchdown!

No. It decreases corporate tax rates further.

I'm pretty darn pleased about the made permanent part. Not just extended for 5 or 10 years but made permanent. A future bill can certainly change that but raising tax brackets is not something which is usually well received - once people have lived with a lower bracket for years.

Everyone's taxes would go up 46% if Trump's tax cuts were allowed to expire... and if Harris had won that's what would have happened....
The big news is the new border rules in the bill... virtually a district court gag... Trump will be able to deport at will... so if you are here illegally you better take the thousand bucks and a free plane ticket and go home and apply for a visa.... the proper way...

$4000 old age deduction:

11% bracket = ~$400
22% bracket = ~$800

Higher bracket than that? Not most.

Say 50 million filers in each bracket: total money back into Older taxpayer hands ~= $60B. Better than nothing. But they had promised no Tax on SS.

Problem with those tax loophole gimmicks like “check here if you were born before 1953” is many self-filers miss it or get angry.

Then go look in book for an amount to write on line 21 or whatever. More complicated work to file. What if you owe no taxes and don’t file but you are 70? Do you get your $400?

Those using fill-in IRS 1040 form on a PC don’t have paper instructions. Not all can download PDF, open, search for some keyword to find the gimmick number.

Hey, the IRS knows your age. Why don’t they do it?

Heres an idea. The IRS knows every filers birthdate and spouses or children ages (all-on file). Make the fill-in form populate the field with your “old-age” tax relef number based on age and filing status.

Same goes fror STD deduction. Why do I have to find some table buried on page 753 and fill it in per status?

Most just see $27,500 STD deduction in bold off to the left and fill it in. Not knowing they are entitled to $29150 or whatever. They just want to get it done for the Love of God Almighty! Make it simple!!?

I guarantee they don’t “fix it” for anyone old who misses it. But if you notice it later, feel free to file an amended to Salt Lake City into a different black hole.

For those with simple income ($0-$50K), SS, 1099, no itemizing or whatever, they don’t need $150 “deductible software” to install, load, learn, use, fill out, submit? How?

IRS.gov has fill-in forms and a submit button. But, as posted above…..its easy to overllok, miss things and end up paying more.

You also have to hand-enter your W2. Another idea, they IRS already has it from your employer. Deeply sighing. Send me a tax bill or SHUP about it.

If they are so against 2017 tax rates they had 4 years to change it? Obiden auto-pen did nothing. Must be non-issue?

No tax on tips, overtime and SS is also included with restrictions and are not "permanent". But then Trump's original tax cuts were not "permanent" either. All in all a very good bill and a win for the American people.

The House of Representatives passed the most critical bill of Trump’s legislative agenda earlier this morning.

The vote was 215-214. Two Republicans, Reps. Thomas Massie of Kentucky and Warren Davidson of Ohio, voted no, along with all the Democrats.

One Republican, Rep. Andrew Garbarino of New York, fell ASLEEP and missed the vote. He would have voted yes on the bill.

“He fell asleep in the back, no kidding,” House Speaker Mike Johnson told reporters following the vote.

****sod off Stain.
